So remember how I said I'd be making a custom soundtrack for you guys? I fianlly had time to do so:

CAG Wipeout Custom Soundtrack

it has some stuff you've heard, but mostly it'll be new to people here. It's all in the vein of the electronic feel of Wipeout except for a few tracks, so post impressions. Be sure to set it on random for max enjoyment

F-Zero + weapons + 1080p = YES.

A level editor would make this a must-buy.

Yeah, I'm excited for the game. I'm a big Wipeout fan and I've been wanting it on PS3 badly. Definitely a buy for me when it comes.

Is it a PSN download or disc?

Is there any word yet on how much it's suppose to cost?

Yeah when I saw that trailer I almost creamed myself.

Sad thing is that there is still no definitive release date. The trailer just says 08. Sony says early 08, which could be broadly interpreted to mean anytime in the first half. Just wish I knew the date already.

I've always hated the fact that wipeout had weapons. I wish it was more like F-Zero.
Wipeout looks good though, so I'm definitely not complaining.

I like the weapons but the handling in Wipeout always felt "floaty" and disconnected compared to F-Zero.

I agree with that too.. even when I turned the weapons off, it was always hard to make it around coners.

The Wipeout series has never changed the handling through the different games it seems. I recently tried Wipeout Pulse and it's still the same way. In F-Zero GX you can "snap" around corners at the right time if you're good. In Wipeout you're basically a stick in the mud.

Hell I've loved Wipeout since its inception. Pure and Pulse have pulled the series back in a good direction. I love the way it handles. Easy to race, hard to master the courses.

I absolutely loved Pure and I played up until I got my ass handed to me one one of the upper levels (those damn straightaways with the snaking in the middle KILL me). I'll pick up Pulse once it drops in price but this video made me drool; wasn't this suppose to be out at the end of '07? Seems to me they keep pushing it back.

It was released in Europe in fall 2007.

Originally was end of 07. Now it's 'early 08'. Trailer just says 08. Who know....

Can't wait for this. Oddly, I've always /liked/ the floaty feel of the controls in this game. Somehow it just fits.

The control's all in the airbrakes. Should be even cooler now with the trigger L2 and R2 buttons. Can't wait for this one!

Yeah, that's the difference. When playing the PSP version I felt that the controls were gimped a little.
