What retailers sell food from Japan? I've been there, and I really liked some of their snacks!

And I'll begin to look into purchasing stuff from you, goomba. I'm not sure why I've been ignoring this thread, but no more :]

Griptor, I buy a lot of Asian snacks from local Chinese grocery marts, but online you can find a lot of Japanese snacks with retailers like: Yes-Asia.com, jbox.com, Amazon (they have some from time to time) and others. All-in-all there's a million retailers but some overcharge a lot. In any case, if you guys find ANYTHING (again, it doesn't have to be games) that you can buy in the US easier than in Canada, just let me know You'd be surprised some of the stuff people request hehe.

Are you in Pork Rind country Goomba? When I order, I would like to have the item packing in pork rinds, they are hard to find up here, in NS. Which I find surprising, because since moving to NS, I find people here eat more deep fried stuff than any other place I've been.

We do sell pork rinds around here yes. I haven't bought them in ages, but I do know they used to have them in all the supermarkets. I'll check that out for you (I'm running to the supermarket now actually).

Oh good news guys. We officially have an RSS Feed to go along with a new GamesForCanada blog. I'll be listing a lot of good deals I find on there, as well as coupons and special offers for people who subscribe to the RSS feeds =) So I recommend you sign up. You can use Google Reader and other RSS feed subscription programs. Here is the feed:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/GamesForCanada

Keep in mind the site is really ugly at the moment and doesn't have any real content yet (working on it). A Goomba can only do one thing at a time Thanks!

The blog if you're curious is at : http://gamesforcanada.blogspot.com - Bookmark it ^_^

Goomba, what could you get a Palm Centro for (GSM version)? On ebay they go for around $225 w/ free shipping to US, or $40 to CAD.

Thanks,
~S

snowsquirrel, I'll look into the Centro for you. They're only $99 with a 2 year contract but the Palm website says they're $279 + tax (new) without a contract. I'll try to look into eBay prices for you. What would you want to get one for (including shipping to Canada)? Let me know.

Dan, I gotta look into that... it's really odd that it'd be giving a message like that. Maybe I didn't finish setting it up correctly Thanks!

Wow I have no idea what I did to violate their TOS. All I did was describe my service and show an item for Buy.com that was on sale. Yikes, looks like that blogger idea won't work after all :( bummer. I'll have to look into another venue for RSS feeds I guess.

Goomba , around how much does it cost to ship a game to Canada. I saw on your website you go on weight so how much does a case +disk + booklet weight ?

A game in bubble mailer is about 190grams, so 7 oz.

Goomba, I talked to the wife, and she says I gotta wait on the phone. But I'll be sure to use you when I buy.

Lockescythe, I think I worked it out with the blog. They thought I was a spammer putting random ads on the blog so they made me verify that I was in fact an actual user. Hopefully I can work it out with them. Google seems to be pretty understanding. If not then yes Wordpress is a good alternative, you're right

Turgore, typically for my items I charge $3.00 for games up to 9 ounces. This is because the average shipping is around $2.50 plus roughly 45 to 50 cents for the bubble mailer and such.

Snosquirrel, at first I thought you said you talked to MY wife about the phone and then I reread it lol. I was going to say, maybe that's why she was so grumpy today Not a problem. If you find a good price on the phone and are ready to buy just let me know ^_^ Thanks!

I'm working it out with my RSS. Looks like I'm still under investigation with Google Blogs for at least a few days so I'm going to look into just setting up my own RSS. It's a little more work but at least I'll have full control over it Thanks to all who suggested.

If there's anything else you'd like me to add to my website just let me know, I'm all ears!

Okay guys, I put together a rough RSS feed for now on my own. Here is the link:

http://www.gamesforcanada.com/rss

You will have to click the "RSS" image at the moment. I haven't actually made a page describing the RSS page just yet (getting to it). Today is Wednesday night now which means I have to start getting my items together for listing on eBay. Tons to do =P

Please subscribe. This way you will know of special offers and items I'm adding to the site, as well as good finds and interesting items that I find while surfing the web. If the item is available for direct purchase I will give you a link to the item, and if it's something I have as a direct-request item I will link it appropriately.

Let me know what sorts of things you'd like me to add I will do my best to accommodate your requests. Thanks! Please, please, please subscribe as I really want this RSS to work

There's Crisis Core for $25.99 at Amazon.com right now.
Goomba might be able to get it around $30 I'm guessing if anyone's interested?

Oh man that's a good deal. Yes anyone interested I can do $30.99 shipped to Canada for Crisis Core. I'm going to go order a copy for myself ^_^ I have a sealed one but I'm saving it for collection purposes. It'd be nice to have a copy to play as well. Oh darn you Amazon and your good deals!

Great news guys. I was able to fix everything up with the moderators over on Blogger/Blogspot. They thought I was spamming but I pointed out that I had a legitimate service/site and they put the account back in place. Hopefully that won't happen again. The link again is:

http://gamesforcanada.blogspot.com

or our RSS feed on Feedburner:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/GamesForCanada

I'd really appreciate if you sign up for my RSS feeds and visit the site I'll be posting lots of interesting offers (many of which won't be on the actual gamesforcanada.com site as they're not necessarily in stock) but the links will either be affiliate links in nature or will have a "Request This Game" button...and if you click it, then it will forward you to my Direct Request Page and auto-fill in the item name and price (before shipping/fees,etc.) Try it out!

hey goomba, i want to buy something from amazon.com and was looking at your direct request page.

what is the difference between paypal basic and paypal credit card? thanks
Reply With Quote
Old 05-30-2008, 02:44 PM   #360
Hey return,

I should probably change the wording on that. Basic refers to payments sent to a personal account. There is no fee for you to send funds that are already in your account or an eCheck to a Paypal personal account. If you send $10USD I get $10USD. However, if you pay with a credit card, then Paypal charges me around 5% or so to accept the payment. So in cases like that, I ask that you guys pay the Paypal fee. That's all

I think I'll re-word the description on the request page. I didn't mean for it to be vague. Thanks!
