When you ask someone a question, they say "What?" Then you start to repeat the question, but once you get one or two words in, they answer.

I do that. But sometimes is just a filler for when someone catches me off guard with a statement. The pause and the first two words of the sentence, usually allow me to sort through what they just said and have an appropriate response.

It may be annoying but its better than someone just staring at you for 2 or 3 seconds, before they say anything. Its kinda like "hold on" let my brain catch-up/switch gears.

Old people or adults that can't understand technology or video games, such as my parents, they think video games are a complete waste of time, yet they watch a lot of soap operas and movies, and no matter how many times I've told my parents how to put on a DVD(now blu-ray) they still ask me to do it every time.

People who still confuse contracting a date such as 1985 Bears defense as "85' Bears". The part you are shortening is the 19, so the apostrophe goes BEFORE the 85. Or graduating seniors from high school or college who write "Class of 08' !" . God damn retards. Give the degree back.
