Awe it doesn't apply for the Collectors Edition of Gears of War 2.

Okay so if I sign up for a free one month trial of Amazon Prime, would I still get free release date shipping on GoW 2 even if my Prime trial expires before the release date?

With the free shipping option, it says the estimated ship date is October 27, close to a week after the game comes out. I wonder why it would take that long just to ship it if it's possible to get release date delivery. Anyone else preorder with Amazon before and know if that's accurate?

Well now I'm considering canceling my limited edition Fable 2 to get the $10 gift card for the regular. I don't understand why it does not apply to all editions of the game. I already canceled my regular for the le when there was a deal not too long ago :/

I e-mailed them on my pre-orders. They previously indicated they would not be pricematching when I e-mailed them about it. I never canceled them, so I'm going to see which they'll give me the card for (even checked on Gears and Fable II LEs, just to see).

there are ways to help get games in your gold box like checking your recommendations and unchecking crap things that might be in there.

I have pre-ordered Far Cry 2, SOCOM, Resistance 2 and Fallout 3 all were Gold Box items. Since amazon won't charge til they ship, I ordered them and if I don't want it I can always cancel before release. Gives me time to think about it but also get the $3 savings. As for SOCOM, it even went down in price so I'm getting it at like $51

Dang, I want Farcry 2 really badly, but I honestly don't know which of the three platforms to buy it for. (Ditto for Mirror's Edge, etc.) The 360 probably had the most exclusives I want still, so I probably should just treat it as my main system, and hopefully the update this fall will make it effectively much quieter.

Dang, both Fable 2 and Gears 2 are tempting at that price. I don't care about multiplayer, so Gears 1 really wasn't worth more than about $20 to me, but even still, if it's only as good as that at worst...

A shame that the LEs don't count but $10 is better than nothing.

Where does it confirm you are also getting the gift cards (I should be getting two - one each for COD & Resistance 2) I don't see any reference to them on the "Please review and submit your order" page.

If this applied to the LE for Gears, I would actually cancel my Lancer preorder for it. (Edit: Cancelled it anyway. I'd rather spend the extra $80 on something useful.)

But, alas, it does not.

I wanna know the reasoning behind WHY this doesn't apply to the GOW2/Fable 2 LE's.

Super Saver shipping basically means they put you at the back of the line and ship the item whenever they feel like it. Seriously, sometimes an SS order ships right away and sometimes it sits processing for multiple days before they get around to shipping. For a preorder, it seems logical that they would fulfill the orders of the people who paid for fast shipping first, then move on to the Super Saver orders. It's unpredictable, that's why it's free.

Agreed... Shame it can't be an added bonus for my $64 LE Fable (Gold Box + price guarantee)
Not enough to merit a cancel/reorder for me, however.

Now I've got to decide between my $64 limited edition pre-order and my $47 standard edition pre-order (with a $10 giftcard)
