Forgive me. I'm old. I have lived a lot of my life through television, not unlike the Cable Guy (sad, huh?), so these sets tap into that facet of my life PLUS I'm a compulsive person with the need to 'collect' things, so this fits together nicely...

Recent buys/borrows

Recently I borrowed the Rocky and Bullwinkle Season ONE set and am actually loving it. Witty show no doubt, plus for $30, wow maybe a purchase.

Buys:

Flintstones Season One: Great as a collector piece, not something I could watch over and over but a worthy purchase for the packaging alone.

Jetsons Season ONE: Ditto, though I may may like this show even more.

Millennium Season ONE: Absolutely great. Not every ep... but Lance Hendrickson is an underrated GOD in training.

Scooby Doo Season ONE: May be the weakest link as far as viewing but still a true time period piece, essential to Hanna Barbera fans.

On my way to buy:

Columbo (I'm old remember?): Season ONE : For me I already know this is a slam dunk.

Still want:

Johnny Quest Season ONE

I have bought many others just didn't want to talk about all of them... some like Sanford and Son Season 3, the transfer is TERRIBLE red lines throughout many shows, may try and exchange it again...

That's a little weird man. That Cable Guy was kind of crazy. Not that I'm calling you crazy...

Anyways, I have a pretty big Boxset collection for only buying for 2-3 years.
Simpsons Season 1
Simpsons Season 2
Simpsons Season 3
Simpsons Season 4
Futurama Vol. 1
Futurama Vol. 2
Family Guy Vol. 1
24 Season 1
24 Season 2

I hope to finish off my Family Guy and Futurama collections soon and I'm planning to get 24 Season 3 when it comes out. Oh, and of course getting Simpsons DVDs as they come out...

Go Trakan!!

I never started down that long long long Friends Avenue... I keep waiting... wishing and hoping the prices will drop to $20 each. There are a lot of seasons...

Hehe, I forgot I bought the Munsters too recently, and uh, Night Gallery....... good thing good games have been far and few... as there are many more TV series I need to finish buying... like Family Guy and Futurama...

This is going to be the most costly 'hobby' around, huh? Though I don't know, games are around $50, so I guess it's not that far off... it's just that when you start with bulk multiple seasons that the cost goes way up...

I have:

Family Guy vol. 1 & 2
Simpsons seasons 2&3
Futurama season 1
Nip/Tuck season 1
Dead Like Me season 1
Penn & Teller: Bullshit season 1
Curb Your Enthusiasm: seasons 1&2

Most of this was bought in the last like 2 months. There's some boxes I've considered buying, namely Sopranos season 1 and Six Feet Under seasons 1&2, but they were too expensive. I'll probably get Dead Like Me season 2 when it comes out, but there's few other TV series that I'll want to watch over and over.

Ehh, I just don't put much priority in this category so I feel like the guy at the bottom looking up through the glass ceiling. Nothing too serious.

I love TV on DVD [in general, some of the choices I don't understand {The Apprentice? Come on...}],
More convenient to watch, sometimes unedited, no commercials, extras, and sometimes a way to catch shows that aren't on anymore.
And in most cases, *very* reasonably priced when you consider dollars-per-hour entertainment value.

Mine [I'm also including anime tv series]:
Dead Like Me: The Complete First Season
Excel Saga: Imperfect Collection: Collector's Edition
Sledge Hammer!: Season One
The 10th Kingdom
Reno 911: The Complete First Season
those were actually the last 5 dvd purchases

The Simpsons: The Complete Fourth Season: Collector's Edition
Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon R: Season 2
Sailor Moon - Season 1
Freaks & Geeks: Limited Edition
Cardcaptor Sakura - vol 1-18
CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Special Edition S1
The Simpsons: The Complete Third Season: Collector's Edition
Upright Citizens Brigade: The Complete First Season
Rocky & Bullwinkle & Friends: Complete Season 1
Sakura Diaries: Collector's Edition
Red Dwarf: Series 2
Red Dwarf: Series 1
The Outer Limits: The Original Series Volume 1
éX-Driver Perfect Collection: Special Edition
Irresponsible Captain Tylor 1-4 [had the OVAs as well, but sold them]
Malcolm in the Middle: The Complete First Season
Lexx s2 v 1-4
The Young Ones: Every Stoopid Episode
The Simpsons: The Complete Second Season: Collector's Edition
The Simpsons: The Complete First Season: Collector's Edition
The Complete Monty Python's Flying Circus: Mega Set
Haunted Junction

Had a few more, Mary Tyler Moore S1, Peter Gunn 1 & 2, but sold them after watching.

Even at that, Netflix has saved me a lot, by letting me catch a show-on-dvd without buying it.....Neon Genesis Evangelion, Tour of Duty, getting Night Gallery through them, Six Feet Under, SCTV S1, probably 4 or 5 others.

I have approx. 20 shows in which I have at least one volume... some were necessary to buy all of like Twilight Zone, some like MASH I really only wanted the first few seasons, some I've bought as much as time period collector pieces as 'something' to watch.
