If you have a girlfriend, Animal Crossing.

If you need to learn HOW TO GET a girlfriend (as well as raise food from scratch to feed your unplanned child) get Harvest Moon.

dont get me wrong, i love harvest moon games...but animal crossing is my favorite game this gen. its just amazing. it's simplistically perfect in every way.

harvet moon is rough, i always get tired and run out of time in the days. i like ac. no pressure, i can do what i want when i want ^^

I've wanted to get AC for awhile now, I played Harvest Moon and after a few days (in HM time) I was sick of it. There's just not a lot to do, I understand that it's a farming game, but it really felt like a stripped down version of the N64 HM. The graphics were nicer true, but the overall gameplay as well as options are so limited I got claustraphobic.

can HM or AC be beaten or does it just go on 4ever?

damn u guys are making me regret buying HM for 25$ maybe i should return it for AC.

i have played a little bit of AC, well not enough to get the full experience i guess, i just started a town and rode the train and met tom nook, got my home and planted some shit, guess i need to give it more of a chance(played it at GC)

I've thought about picking up one of these games too. I keep waiting for AC to drop a little more in price, but given the fact that it comes with its own memory card, $30 ($25 w/GGC) is probably as low as it will get.
I just have such a backlog of other games to get to right now that I keep putting this purchase off.

thats not even an issue with ac.

theres no way to beat it, so dont consider it a game you can beat.

if you have 15-20 mins of free time, i know i dont feel like playing games because games today take too long to get in to, but ac is amazing. you can play it for 10 or 20 mins, do 3 or 4 tasks and then just walk away and continue later!

it has amazing pick up and play abillity

I hafta say both games are great, but Animal Crossing still holds a special place in my heart. It's just so much fun, even if it can get tedious at times. There's so many different things u can focus on (like filling the museum, paying off your debt, furnishing your house, keeping up the town). Like punqsux said, you can pick up and play for a few minutes a day.

I own both games, and I'd recommend both, but AC is more fun IMO.

neither, i have them both harvets moon gets VERY REPETITIVE in about a week and Im a huge harvest moon fan, animal crossing took me about 2 months too get bored of, AC is a better game it revolves around your clock so if you want a 3:00 event and you arent home by 3:00 its over plus the holidays are the same day as yours, seasons change based on your time so can weather and each town is unique. If you must get one get AC if you can wait for something better, then wait neither of these games are amazing

I'm going to agree with AC. I loved HM on the 64, but never played any other versions. With AC, it's not meant to be a sit-down-and-play game.. you basically play it thirty minutes to an hour every day. Things happen in the city whether you're there or not. It's a very, very fun game.

When my brother moved out, he took the cube.. and I had to sell my Animal Crossing. Sigh.. I'll miss that game.. :(

I would recommend getting AC over Harvest Moon. It was one of the first games I got for my GC and I still play it. As an added bonus you could also play old nes games if you get tired of doing chores around town.

Go with AC. A friend bought both for his wife and she loves AC but got bored with HM. I got AC 5 monts ago and still play it at least once a week. My fiancee plays it practically every day. I haven't played the newest HM but I've played the passed versions. They're fun for awhile but got old.

Harvest Moon AWL was a dissapointment. When compared to HM64, this game falls disgustingly short. AC however, allows you so many paths to choose from, and was never ending. They'll both get old after a while, but AC will last you a good deal longer. Plus you get the free Memory Card.

I have both games, and I got bored with Harvest Moon really quick. Both games can be tedious, but AC is a lot easier to pick up whenever and play. I played it pretty obsessively for a summer. Even though I'm pretty much bored with it now, I still go "visit" my town on AC once in a while. I only got through a couple days (in HM time) of HM before I totally stopped. Which was really disappointing, since I really liked the GBA HM.

I have had each game since the days they came out (they both looked that good to me) and I must say, like everyone else has, that AC is better. Although, I suggest not getting an obsession over it... and buying many plushies, toys, and cards of it... and then the Japanese version that I don't understand... and soon my European copy will come and I can play in French...
