Just wondering, CheapyD, what made you decide to use the Monopoly guy's face to determine a member's rank (i.e. newbie, regular, veteran, etc.)?

Whats the best video game version of monopoly? I vote PS1. My mom got it for me for christmas a few years ago and at first I was like "what the hell? I wanted a pony!" But that game, with its little movies and not-so-confusing interfaces, captured my heart and made me forget about my pony.

Risk and Monopoly are both really awesome... but for the version of Monopoly on Systems, I say Super Nintendo, you can cheat, it's so sweet... I'm also a poet, and don't no it... I'll shutup now.

Anyone ever play the *other* game feating Rich Guy? His name is actually
Rich Uncle Pennybags
and after Monopoly, he was featured in a stock-market game called Rich Uncle [fitting, no/?]

It actually is pretty fun, and moves a whole lot quicker than Monopoly.
In the middle of the board is a 'stock price', ranging from 100 to 3000 I think.
On your turn you roll the dice, if you get doubles, you get an 'event' [a little newspaper which can either cost you or make you money], and switch the stock price. If you roll a non-doubles, you can buy the stock with that number for the given market price. Or you can sell one stock at the market price. If someone owns it, the owner of the stock receives the value of the stock[listed on the stock ownership card], times how many of that color stock they have. They then have to give the person who rolled the number, 500.00 as a 'commission' or something. First one to 50k wins.
It's more fun than my explanation makes it sound--plus, in my case, it's kinda cool playing a game, the exact same game, that my mom played when she was like 15.

What's the longest game anyone has had with either Risk or Monopoly? We usually push about 4-5 hours per game and by then tempers are VERY short.

found for as low as $7 on ebay.

Would be neat to have one of the first releases though.

That first one, with the orange box, is the one I have. But it's definitely in 50-year old condition. Which I guess is why some of them are worth a lot [to the right buyer.]
I found one site that had either an unopened copy, or a nearmint/mint one, for like 150 British pounds. It was a 'collector's' site, not an individual-reseller site, though, so that may have made a difference.
