You can check codes only for games you registered already. It will say "You registered this game already" - otherwise it says "This code is invalid/used"

for the european localized sites there is a way
add the code on the site without logging in to your account. if the code hasn't yet been used you will be asked to fill some questions. Quit that form and the code will be fine
If the code has already been used you will receive an error message

from what i remember from the american site, you can only redeem codes after creating and logging to your account, and there isn't any kind of confirmation or prompt, either the code is valid and immediately redeemed, or you'll get the error message

So... Am I an idiot or a genius for just realizing you can register multiple copies of the same game in sub-accounts of one family account? The coins all get pooled together and they seem to even contribute to Platinum status... Doesn't this mean there's little to no point in trading codes?

I trade codes because coins expire if they go unused after 2 full club years. I don't redeem many of them. I just like the platinum rewards. Just one account for me.
