Possible Star Wars DVD Pricing Info / CD Soundtrack Deal

If anyone can magnify the image enough, we might be able to see what the price will be that day.

Also looks like there will be some special action figures released that day too.

Also, here's a possible pricing mistake by CircuitCity.com. Some people don't know that the CD soundtracks have been remastered in surround sound and are going to be re-released on 9/21 as well. CC is listing the soundtracks for episodes 4, 5, and 6 at a pre-order price of $21.99 each. However, they are listing the 3-pack with all three CDs for only $16.99! Here's a link to the search page (scroll about halfway through to find the CDs):

http://entertainment.circuitcity.com...arch=STAR+WARS

Here's a link to the Trilogy CD set:

NOTE: There was an error in the first posting. Don't know why both pics came out the same.

By the way, I was just joking about zooming in the picture for the price sticker.

They won't price the set anyway until they see what the competition is offering.

I found this picture on the forums at MillenniumFalcon.com (That's no typo, the site is spelled that way). They were originally posted on yakface.com, which is a site for Star Wars merchandise news.

I guess that a Wal-Mart employee took a picture of the back rooms.

Is the X Wing in the second picture a cardboard promotional display? Its pretty cool.

How would this soundtrack deal work? If it is a mistake and CC catches it, will they cancel all of the orders placed with the $16.99 price?

I believe that they would honor the mistake. In their policy, it states that they honor whatever price is lower between when you order the item, and when it is released. For example, if you pre-order the item early at 19.99, and on the day of releases it is in the ad for $25.99, you get it for $19.99. Same the other way around, if you pre-order it expensive, and it releases cheap, you get it cheap.

I think that the listing is indeed for the 3 CD set, since Amazon, Best Buy and all the other major sites list the only 4 Star Wars CD releases on 9/21 (or in the future for that matter) to be Episode 4, Episode 5, Episode 6, and the 3 CD set.

Wait, wait...is it possible that the "Star Wars Trilogy: Episode IV-VI Original Soundtrack" may be a "Greatest Hits" deal? As in, it only has select tracks from each of the movies...

I'm feeling a little suspicious about the soundtrack, as the other releases as listed as being from Sony, but the Trilogy is listed as being released by Music Club Records.

Yeah, now I notice about the Music Club label being on the cheaper title. But I've yet to find the Music Club CD listed on any other site. Also, doesn't seem as if CC has the 3 CD set listed anywhere. I'd pass on this for now, at least until we find more info.

While browsing BestBuy.com while looking for some info on the rerelease of the soundtracks (Which is going to be a very nice box set and can be found here .http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....p;type=product). I think I stumbled upon the give away item for when you buy the Trilogy DVD's. It looks like a special copy of the Star Wars insider. This can be found here http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....;type=product. If someone wants to edit the links so Cheapy gets credit should someone buy it from there feel free to do so.

You put an extra period at the end of the 2nd link, should be:

Yeah, I'm tempted to buy the CC 3-disc CD set...but I will wait. They do make a lot of pricing mistakes though. I'm not THAT interested in the soundtracks anyways, but for $16 I would splurge.

my first guess is those pics were taken at TRU and probably the times square nyc one. Also appears to be 3 different exclusive dvd figure sets, hence being in a toy store and could maybe be TRU exclusive figures? hmmm TRU might be the place to go no matter what the price if they are the only ones offering the figures.

Actually, the person who originally took the pictures was a Wal-Mart employee who saw the DVD stands in the back of his Wal-Mart.

From what I can tell, the 3 sets of figures are:

Luke, Obi Wan, C3PO, & R2D2
Chewy, Leia, & Han
Vader, Emperor, & ????

Man......I wish I could still afford to collect SW figures...

:'(
