Looks like we're both right. EDI was created based on Reaper tech.

I finished Tali's recruitment last night. I've decided to not do Mordins, Grunt and Jacobs loyalty missions so its off to the Derelict Reaper! It's pretty much the beginning of the endgame for me. I was happy to have unlocked the Cain last night too. That should be helpful.

any particular reason for skipping Mordin's? I can definitely understand Grunt's (not bothering with the Thresher Maw) and Jacob's (since hes such a boring character its not worth the effort) but Mordin's isnt that difficult and has actual relevance in ME3.

Oh man...I attempted the Collector ship (those platforms) on insanity and got my alliance behind handed to me about 4 times in a row in short order. My engineer needs a new strategy.

No special strategy that I remember except being inhumanly fast and accurate. Probably took me at least 10 tries. It's just incredibly hard.

That one gave me a lot of trouble back when the game first came out. In that room with the talkative krogan where you can renegade interrupt and then a squad of krogan rush you, that gave me such a hard time. I have no desire to bother with that on insanity. #oldwounds

Besides, this isn't a save that I'd take into ME3 anyway.

Yeah, that was, without question, the hardest part of the game so far. Stay in cover and snuff Harbinger before he gets too close. I didnt worry about the scions until the drones were gone. Some people try to take out the scions first.

Ah fair enough, I can understand that then. I remember that part not giving my Soldier much trouble on Insanity, but oh well.

I usually take out the first scion and then worry about the drones/Harbinger. Definitely takes some patience to get through.

I got through it. I took out the Collectors and when Harbinger got close, I wasn't shy about using the grenade launcher. I saved the Scions for last and then lobbed incinerate at them from a distance. Rest of that mission wasn't too bad after that. From there I quickly knocked out Thane and Samara's loyalty missions and now I'm off to get Tali.

Nicely done!

I started my loyalty missions tonight, did Zaeed and Garrus. Zaeed is still unloyal so it will be interesting to see if he survives the suicide mission. Garrus is my bro for life after I let him kill Sidonis. Probably gonna slog through Thane's, Samara's, Jacob's, and Miranda's tomorrow.

I actually finished Mordin's loyalty mission not too long ago. And as far as I can tell, it has been BY FAR the easiest mission I've played on this Insanity PT. Every time a couple of burly krogan came into view, I had Mordin do Incinerate (area), AR/Warp Ammo (heavy)/Revenant and take away their armor, Grunt does a Concussive Blast (area), and then finish them off. At the end of the mission, I hit pause and checked the options to make sure I was still on Insanity

As for my own Insanity run, finished all recruitment/loyalty missions. Off to do side missions and then DLC (Overlord, LotSB, Derelict Reaper, Legion's loyalty, Collector Base, and then Arrival in that order). I intend to do a complete clear. In terms of ranking the loyalty missions' difficulty (on Insanity), for me it'd be (easiest to hardest): Samara -> Thane -> Mordin -> Jack -> Tali -> Grunt -> Zaeed -> Jacob -> Garrus -> Miranda/Kasumi. You have to do Legion's last, so no need to rank it. That and it's fairly easy.

On a side note, bring Wrex and Kaiden when you go to fight Fist in ME1. Kaiden's reaction is priceless.

When I play ME1, the only time Kaiden is allowed off the ship is when I need someone to die for me on Virmire.

I did a ME2 Insanity run as a soldier many moons ago over the course of a month; only things that I recall giving me much trouble were YMIR mechs (especially that side quest with the three of them that're blowing up crates ), and those damn Collector platforms before I realized Harbinger's attack patterns. Great gaming experience though, completing everything on Insanity.

That sounds like my ME2 Insanity Soldier run. I think that side quest with the three mechs gave me more trouble than 3/4 of the loyalty missions.

This. We always put a slug in Harkins leg for mouthing off then we take out Sidonis.

Based on what Dude and Edge are saying, maybe I will do Mordins loyalty mission. Just because he's such a great character and I'm having so much fun this pt.

If you need the credits, remember to "STAY" at the end. The monitor where Mordin slaps around Maelon has a hack for 3000 credits.

And Chubbs, it really depends on how well you can handle krogan. If they're tissue paper to you, then by all means, go for it. If not, then...pray, I guess.

Also, I used to stop Garrus from shooting Harkin in the leg. But for my last 5 PTs, I've let him shoot Harkin because it felt pretty good. That and he's a bastard.

As for Sidonis, I stop Garrus.
I know, I know. Like Harkin, he's a bastard and deserves to die. I won't argue that. But I see Garrus as being above petty revenge. Also, I'd like to think that there's some good left in the galaxy.

huh, did Jack's loyalty mission and after all this time thinking I wouldnt have enough Paragon/Renegade to resolve her and Miranda's dispute (and RPing various reasons why I'd side with Miranda over Jack), turned out I had enough Renegade to settle it afterall and it fit perfectly with the "mission first" mantra. How about that.

Done with everything (except for Arrival). Recruitment, loyalty, and DLC. Off to the endgame.

After I beat ME2, it's off to finish my ME3 Insanity run (aka, Fun with Self-Made Fire Explosions). Of course, after finishing ME2's Insanity, ME3's Insanity will probably feel like a cake walk.
