Fry's Ads 9/24-28 (Def Jam, GGX2, Katamari, Promathia, Rome, and X-Men!)

Here's the video game listings from the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Los Angeles/Orange County (LA), San Jose/Silicon Valley (SJ), and Washington state (WA) Fry's Ad(s). These prices are valid only for the dates listed in the subject line.

The items listed below are as they appear in the Fry's Ads. If an item is listed as "SJ only", for example, it could still be on sale at other locations (i.e. - San Diego, Sacramento, Austin, Houston, NV, AZ, OR, IL, GA), but it only appeared in the SJ ad. We have noticed that the Dallas Morning News and SJ Mercury News often run very similar ads. Also, the Chicago ads are often similar to the Seattle ads. However, since these ads are not available online, I cannot confirm them.

If anyone knows of a website to view any further ads, please let me know.

Unless otherwise indicated, items below are listed in all four (DFW, LA, SJ, and WA) ads.

How does one define bad? It's an Editor's Choice by IGN and has gotten similarly positive reviews from 8 different sites already. That would lead me to think otherwise.

Does anyone know Katamari's price in L.A. Fry's stores? It's not listed in the L.A. ad... I probably should stop by the place anyway, they've got Spinal Tap for $6!

Cheapy D should have awards for Cheapest B&M and Cheapest Online stores. I bet Fry's and Outpost.com would be right up there near the top. Maybe he could even let us vote on it...

The $14.99 price applies to all the stores in my post. Remember that the Orange County Register posts a larger ad than the LA Times does. Katamari is listed in their ad. Plus, the ad covers all the same stores.

Here is some info for anyone in IL looking for deals at Fry's:

Katamari Damacy was NOT on sale. (Still $19.99) Battlefront, Megaman X Command Mission, etc. all seemed to be on sale as posted.

Generally, whenever you see the deals where it's 34.99,36.99 or 38.99 depending on where you live, it's gonna be the most expensive option.

They are pretty bad about posting the sales prices. Last week I was going to buy Fable but it didn't appear to be on sale. I asked, the guy confirmed it was 38.99, and about 10 people who were all looking for the same deal overheard and picked it up.

I have gotten some great deals at Fry's since it opened, but it's frustrating that they seem to be very inconsistent and/or choosy with which deals they are going to participate in.

Damn not listed in the LA ad, I was hoping to get it pricematched to a closer store for cheaper, guess I'll have to make a trip to Fry's... only 15 minutes away, not too bad.

46 dollars for that crappy movie Dungeons and Dragons?!

Yeah, I'm sure it's a typo, but, anyway Katamari Damashi is a really Japanese-esque game where you roll trash in a giant ball and roll it around, trying to collect all the trash. It's a fun game, very cool style.

In L.A., they are in the Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday papers. Friday is the only day they have the full pull-out ad, the other days they have a full one page ad usually on the back page of the Sports or Business section.
