I used to work at TRU about 2.5 years ago. If we issued a gift card for a sale, it was available to use immediately. I used that to full advantage when making purchases. I'd get a gift card with one purchase, then use it immediately for another one. Unless something has changed, I assume that you can use the gift card for your next purchase. I've never heard anything about a 6 hour activation wait.

What is this $10 off $50 coupon that you're talking about? Is this something you received in the mail?

A free membership much like a Safeway or Albertson's card. If you were too lazy to sign up for one, then tough cookies for you.

Yea, it's easy, dude. I just went to toysrus.com and signed up in about a minute, then printed out a temporary card. No sweat.

My anti-virus software (AVG) doesn't like Toyrus' reward zone site. Says the security certificate of the site has expired.

I clicked on the details for the on-line ad and it states you get $450 if you buy Wii Sports Resort and 2 games. Too funny.

The giftcard they will give out will likely have a 6 hour delay before becoming active, but getting around that is extremely easy, so long as you can convince the cashier to put it on a regular gift card that you'd get when you buy one at any register.

That cashier was retarded if they let you buy a gc with another gc.

Promo gift cards have an expiration date but regular gift cards have a longer, or in some states, have no expiration.

You made a false claim in regards to being able to return the 360 and keeping the giftcard value, why should we keep scrolling?

When a child makes a mistake, you slap it, so it won't do it again.

When a newbie poster makes a mistake you do the same, educate yourself before posting and they'll leave you alone.

oh, I love the pwn'd 14 year old comment, very mature - a child always lashes out when they are in the wrong. Now if your are 14, grow up and act like a man not a little momma's boy. Age means nothing here, you can be 14 or 41; nobody can care less.

It's something they've started within the past year. It's just another way to get people to come back and spend more money then they intend to.

Regarding the gift card, on the TRU website it says:

"*FREE GIFT CARD OFFERS: In-store only. Limit 1 per guest. Quantities limited; no rain checks. Git Card offers cannot be combined. Mario Brothers Gift Card valid beginning 6 hours after activation and expires 9/30/09 , except where prohibited. See gift card for Terms and Conditions. Gift Card offer expires 8/1/09."

From bestbuy.com (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....60&id=cat12098)

How do you handle a price match if an instant gift card is included with a purchase?
The value of an instant gift card with purchase will be considered when calculating a price match. If the combined value of a competitor's product and instant gift card is lower than the combined value of Best Buy's product price and instant gift card, Best Buy will match either the price or the instant gift card value, depending on the offer.

PS they(CSR and a Manager) didn't believe me about this until I pulled it up on my Iphone in the store, then a 2nd manager had to come over and read it to get them to honor it.
The arguement BB will have with this is that the offer to PM has to include that BB is currently having the same type of offer, meaning that they also have a giftcard to offer if you buy a specific item. it all sounds good in theory, but they will always manage to win if they want.

Has anybody tried for the pre-order GC and the extra $20 GC today yet?

The 6 hour rule on the GC sucks I wanted to walk right back in and buy another Motion Plus or the whole Tiger Woods Wii set. Now I will try and wait untill their next weeks ad is posted to see if they do another 15% off video games coupon.

p.s.
They probably want all the soccer moms coming in to buy Wii Sports Resort getting stuck spending another $20.00 cash/credit on the spot for the second Motion Plus so their kids can run home and play it right than and there.
