This was not technically labeled a "sale" but more of a "temporary markdown". However, because if something is marked down in price one would consider it to be a sale no? So I labeled it a sale as the topic.
Anyway, there was no AD or anything on GameStop's end directed to the public about when the markdowns would end. I just saw a memo that mentioned some temporary markdowns were happening, so I wanted to give back to the CAG community that has given me good deals for the last 5+ years information about the deal. Simply put, GAMESTOP had the right to mark the prices back up anytime they wanted to without notice.They did nothing wrong except give you games at a good price if only for a day on some.
Most of the time when they have advertised sales/offers there is usually fine print that states prices, limited availability or sale terms are subject to change without notice, so no matter how hard you want to fight them about it, you will lose. However, in this case they did not even need to put any fine print because there was no flyer, ad or paper etc given to the public.
If you missed out on the deal, or were not satisified, just give it a rest and move on.

Why does the web site say it is online only on some games? Answer: The website is being stupid. ALL TITLES I LISTED ARE AVAILABLE IN STORE FOR THE $19.99 until 8/2
Is the PC version of FEAR 2 or Street Fighter IV on sale also? Answer: No, console versions only. SFIV PC just released so a drop would be unlikely.

Is this sale also at EBGames also? Answer: Yes, both are the same companies
Will my GameStop hold me a copy if I call in advance? Answer: YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary). Basically up to the store manager's discretion. Most of the time if you ask to just hold it for under 30 mins or so, and leave ASAP they are fine with it. However, YMMV again. Just try your luck.
If I buy online will I receive a SEALED copy? Answer: It is hard to say, I have heard stories of people buying and getting a opened copy with a clear sealed on it. CHANCES are that this is GameStop, and you will just have to accept the fact there will not be sealed copies for you. Just order it online and if its not sealed return in store. Just make sure not to remove the clear seal to indicate you did not open it. Otherwise just print out the page on GS.com that shows your game for the $19.99 and price match it @ BestBuy. That should be good enough proof to convince BB to price match it since GameStop is a local competitor everywhere. Places are becoming the Starbucks of video games in most places.
Will the trade in value drop on these games? Like SFIV since it is only $19.99? Answer: Yes, more than likely the TIV (Trade in Values) will drop. When Bionic Commando dropped in price, the TIV dropped also. These companies are smarter, and will not allow a chance for customers to exploit them for long. I predict SFIV will have a $10 or under TIV, I mean most stores seem to be flooded with USED copies already. Not much profit to be made selling this game USED anymore. BOTTOM LINE: Don't bother flipping for $5 or so profit instead just get a life, and real job.
Why are there no sealed copies in stores? Answer: Stores are always instructed to GUT more copies to make it seem like the game is BIG or IMPORTANT. Also stores were instructed to display copies at the cash wrap (counter) which can only mean more gutting.
Have employees really been playing my copy of SFIV that I just got? Answer: Yes, chances are if you received a unsealed copy then that copy could have been checked out by an employee. However you also have to factor in the fact that not all employees like SFIV, or that actual SFIV copy out of a dozen or so was "played" with. Yes, it is shady to sell new product that has been played, but believe it or not some stores the managers only allow checkouts on USED, so basically it is just hard to tell. You can't accuse a store right away for selling you a copy they played, when it will be really hard to track. If it hurts you that much about getting a played copy, then BestBuy is that way my friend just make sure to bring a print out with you to TRY and price match it. Does this sale start @ 7pm on 7/27? Answer: NO

Is there a AD for this sale so I can PM else where? Answer: NO, temporary Markdowns. Prices go back up 8/2
Are used games dropping also? Answer: only select titles will have used price drops also.

Why is street fighter so cheap? Will I be able to find any? Answer: No idea, but my guess is they are trying to clear inventory for the rumored "Street Fighter IV Championship Edition or whatever it wants to be called"
Stores have been instructed to push Street Fighter IV @ this price by displaying copies @ the counter to show off this great price (WHICH COULD MEAN GUTTING MULTIPLE COPIES) If you want a sealed or a copy at all then go their ASAP when sale starts.
Why is the game still tagged at regular price? Answer: Chances are your store DID NOT update their price changes, or this is a promo sale which means the employee has to hit the TOTAL button (F12) on the keyboard to reflect the accurate price. That or the employee is just being stupid. It should be a nationwide GameStop sale @ all stores.
These are temporarily marked down and will go back up on 8/2. Amazing price on Street Fighter which leads me to believe a new version is in the works. super Street fighter iv ultra hyper edition anyone ?

Street Fighter IV for for $19.99 !? I too will buy one sealed for my collection since I paid $59.99 before costume downloads but have been enjoying my fightpads and TE sticks immensely although play much less often then after it first came out in Feb.

He's going to return it, since he assumes there will be no stock, so now they'll have it in stock, and it will be at the sale price. He'll receive his 39.99 back and then he can rebuy the one now instock.
