Isn't SF3 a little old? Would be cool if you could play online. I'll buy it if they do an Xbox port.

Pushing about the same age as Marvel vs Capcom 2 when it was re-released for the current generations of consoles (if we're talking 3rd strike, and not double impact). I don't know how reliable it is, but I wouldn't put it past capcom, especially since that the series has a dedicated fan base, and also was recently taken off line in Asia.... it's a possibility, and that's all I can say now....

Considering that, like, no one got to play SFIII here in the states, I'm glad Capcom is doing this. It is easy to say "Its an old game ...", but the majority of gamers didn't have Dreamcasts and, thus, this rerelease of SFIII is going to have a huge audience that didn't get to play it the first time.

Well, you COULD have played it, but you would have had to go to the arcade. I remember when it first came out in arcades. I wasn't all that impressed, but then again, I think the usual gang of mallrats beat me soundly when I tried to play.

I agree. It's hard to get into the new "fighter" if you aren't good friends with the people who kick your ass consistenly. If you were friends they would at least show you how to do the things they do and, more importantly, how to get out of them.

There are no casual players in the arcades near me. Most of the players there pretty much do nothing else but sleep and hang out at the arcade. Sort of takes the fun out of it when you plop down .50 or whatever and get beaten in under 20 seconds.

That's why MAME is so cool. Too bad they have a 3 year rule...

This is good for those who don't have dreamcasts, but in 2004, the world simply won't care. Another miscalculation by Capcom. Money is the primary focus in the business world...sometimes I wonder what motivates chimps to enter the videogame industry and become CEO's and so forth. Don't get me wrong, the game is awesome as I've played the hell out of it on my DC, but can anyone honestly say that there's any money in releasing this game on the PS2 now?

Yes, this game will make money. A lot of people like the SF series.

Of course it'll make money as the porting process will be straightforward. Why does this news remind of Darkstalkers with Match Play on the Dreamcast? Have it. Love it. No one else can relate.

I think it will do okay considering that it is a 2d fighter in a 3d fighter's world. Also the the ps2 SF games have not gone down a whole lot in price so something good must be going on.
