I decided not to sell my N64. Bought these for $15. My label maker was also busted beyond useful so I got a new one.

Went to pick up FIFA 09 for $20 new today at GS. It was actually New/Sealed. When I was checking out I saw a stack of guides on the counter behind the desk. I asked if they were for sale, expecting to get shot down but figured it was worth a try. The employee said I could have what I wanted as long as I wasn't being greedy about it. Ended up walking out with FIFA 09, an original xbox controller, and a Call of Duty WAW & Red Faction: Guerrilla guide for $30. Best GS experience ever. There were about 10 to 15 guides in the stack, but these two were the only ones of importance to me and I figured since the guy was doing me a solid I didn't want to end up walking out with 7 or 8 guides.

The $7.50 copy of Metroid Prime 2 I picked up at Game Crazy was damaged beyond repair. Too many dents and pits in the disc for even a disc buff machine to fix. That's more money down the drain.

I bought Sonic Riders there for $5 and promptly had it buffed as well. I'll hope it's playable. I passed on Starfox Adventure, it looked too damaged to repair.

Between Game Crazy's "all sales final" policy and disc envelopes taped shut, I'm hesitant to buy further games there. It's not a bargain if the disc is shot. They actually wouldn't let me look at the MP2 disc before purchase. I'm really not sad to see them going out of business. Even if it is only 200 of their stores, they deserve it.

Funny then, my local store's last day was to be tomorrow, but has been pushed back 2 weeks. I geuss management wants them to stay open longer to see if their pile of Lego Indiana Jones copies ever sells.

Yeah, hundreds of employees lost their jobs! 'em, they deserve it!

My GC made sure customers checked their discs before they left.

Funny, none of the local employees here lost their jobs. They're just getting assigned to different stores.

But I'm beyond caring about shit like that. A store s me over by selling faulty merchandise with no return policy in place, I stop giving a damn about their bottom line. Nor the employees, who don't act as if they give a damn in the first place.

My latest purchase-

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Gateway+...99118300050002

My Windows XP PC of almost 7 years was showing its age. I wasn't sure how much longer the motherboard would hold up, the video card is useless, and... well... I had to get a credit card to buy this, but with my credit being pretty low, a new card might help me in the long run anyway.

I'm rocking Windows 7 now. The problems people seem to have had with game compatibility isn't an issue for me. But I bought the machine with W7 preinstalled, not some early copy installed over Vista.

The video card is adequate. I can play Half Life 2 and Postal 2 at full settings. I'm going to try Doom 3.

I added on a case fan and Best Buy's 4 year monitor warranty with my purchase. Seems 95% of people who have problems with Gateway PCs are due to no case fan from the factory but it looks like most PC manufacturers are excluding that. And most PC users are idiots who shove the tower on some shelf with no air ventilation. I also restructured my PC shelves so there's an open space now. It's been on for almost 2 days and is still running cool.

I have already sold my RAM sticks and monitor from the old PC. Got $60 for them. I intend to keep the hard drive, whenever I can get an IDE-SATA adaptor for it. I have a 1 TB drive now but I'm not tossing my old 250 GB drive.
