Can I buy a 2nd copy to the same email as the first I bought? I want to get one for someone but can't gift it to their email.

You can get one to the same email and i think they removed the gifting option after awhile... I got one for my brother and just downloaded it, put it on a thumb drive, and gave it to him...

Of course he lives like five steps from me so it was an easy process.....

DAMN IT! Why can't I link it to Steam? Still no games, can't have friends :(

EDIT for punctuation.

Because they didn't contract with Valve to have external keys registerable on Steam.

Add it to Steam as a non-Steam game, and you can still use the Steam overlay, at least.

Okay, I'll probably buy another for 10 cents. What's to stop people from just copying the file they downloaded for themselves? I think they put the email gifting option back up.

They asked nicely that people don't pirate their game. That's what's supposed to stop people from copying the file and distributing it (illegally).

Bought the disc version in the past, just bought another for a friend for $5.

People donating less than a dollar..... ugh.

You can't blame people. 2Dboy knew they would get the .01 buyers by not putting a minimum...

I don't pirate. I would like to be able to copy the game for my own use though. I'll pick up a 2nd copy for 10 cents because I already gave a larger tribute for my own copy and I don't know if my friend will even end up playing it.

Oh I always know people will.

But to see people bragging about it.

Thanks OP! I donated a dollar- more later if I like it.
I think it's a great marketing move for 2DBoy to make this sale. It's been a year since World of Goo came out; the market that was going to buy it has already bought it. Who's been waiting for the price to drop on this $20 PC release? The users who played it were 90% pirates, anyway. What does 2DBoy have to lose? They make some cash, and they get a good reputation, or just add to the good one they already have.
Kudos 2DBoy.

Donated what I thought was appropriate, got the email link within the minute and have been playing off and on since last night--just started level 4. very neat little game and the "pay what you like" option is really great. even if they don't make a killing on it, I'm sure word of mouth will spread like wildfire and folks will remember this next time the devs release a game. I know I will.

At this point, I think most people who would buy this have already bought it, so I see any money people pay for this as pure profit for the developer, even the smaller amounts (assuming there is not some fixed processing cost per download). If you would have never bought this game otherwise, what difference does it make if you "donate" $.05, $0.50 or $5?

Paid $7.50 the other day. I won the Wii one in a contest, so I feel like I should at least give something back. Still waiting for it, since I paid with eCheck.
