If I didn't already have the three games I would pick this up. I love the Atelier Iris art style.

Nice! I'd pick it up if I already didn't own 1 and 3. Those games are way fun, collecting and making things via alchemy was way fun.

Games are not an investment, they're entertainment. If you want to invest your money, look into stocks & bonds.

Trust me I already have money in the market and I know a thing or two about business having a degree and a nice paying job. So don't give me your dumb lecture about investing.

Some of us do both collecting and playing. Would you want to see your $40 investment in a game tank in value cuz greedy ass GQD reprints every goddamn RPG ever made? No you wouldn't nobody would because what if you want to resell it and you get screwed cuz of a reprint like this one?

Don't worry. Every good/classic RPG will become a PSOne Classic, PS2 Classic, PSN Game, Xbox Live Arcade Game, Virtual Console Game, or whatever.

You have an original, they have a reprint (I'm pondering about getting the reprint since I've never played them). It should be worth more.

Apparently they didn't teach you common sense.

I've had several rare games that I own reprinted. I don't care. If a game is good, I want as many people as possible to be able to play it, and they shouldn't have to spend a fortune to do so. If a game is bad...well, no one cares in the first place.

True that. And from a playing standpoint get them. They were excellent games. I just wish that GQD would not reprint almost every niche RPG. Oh well at least other people get to enjoy them I guess.

Did this series really need a reprint? I know the games have been OoP for a while but they were exactly valuable, unless you have sealed copies I guess.

Bonds are a safer investment than games but stocks in the past year haven't exactly been solid.

Yeah, but I assume that there will be something a little bit different about it so that collector's will know.
(Personally I think it would be better if the box art was a little bit different.)

Also, the average joe will never play Atelier Iris. Not even the reprint.

$90 seems overpriced to me.

It seems odd that anyone seems to think the company cares about collectors. The resale value of these games is of no concern to the people involved in making them, as they get nothing from that. Any game will be reprinted as long as the makers think they will sell. This has always been true, and always will be.

Panzer Dragoon Saga and Shining Force 3 say hi.

In other news, its still good to see they have over 250 of the "limited edition" Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliances on PS2!

Eh -- I wouldn't hold your breath. The Fatal Frame series was one thing, but reprints for GQD seem to be isolated to Atlus distributed titles (Yes, NIS games are distributed by Atlus, read the fineprint on the back). I don't foresee Namco allowing its games to get reprints, especially since some of its games were released post its merger with Bandai (this may or may not create some legal/licensing hurdles).

Though if GQD were to reprint any games, it should look to reprinting Tales of Abyss for the PS2; now there's a solid RPG that was really under-printed. I have it and would certainly like more gamers to enjoy that game.

Re: the investment thing -- I certainly get it. Then again, all prices are probably going to fall a bit if Sony can ever get PS2 games up for sale on its PSN (aside from PS1 games). Then again, people like having the tangible games, so may be not that much.

On a related note, reprints can in some cases be almost impossible to tell from the original print. Not every new PS2 game was released with that white sticker on the top. I don't think Fatal Frame 3 ever had one and neither did the Ar Tonelico games. So in other words, aside from the memory card holder (which also went by the wayside with recent titles), it might be really hard to tell what exactly is a reprint.
