This sometimes happen to me, but I only have like 75 games. But usually, it wears off in a day and I'm right back on. If this does happen and I don't already have games checked out from Blockbuster, then I go there.

Nope. My issue usually comes up when I want to start an RPG, and look at my stack of RPG's yet to start... and decide that I'd rather just pop in a fighting or other short term time investment style of game.

I love side scrolling shooters for this reason.. I can drop a half hour on it, have a feeling of accomplishment, and then be done with it.
With RPGs, a half hour dropped on it will barely get you through the intro.

This happens to me every once and awhile...I also have a large amount of games (close to 500) and sometimes I just don't feel like even looking at them. I think its natural to sometimes be turned off by something you do (have done) for long periods of time, even if you love that activity. Usually a couple days to a week go by and I'm back at it and enjoying myself.

I have that problem, I think it is a combination of burnout and knowing that once I put in a game it will often require a large time investment to get anywhere. If I can't just jump right back into a game I may not play it for a while. I have many unfinished games, but still need more variety to keep me from getting bored. Sometimes it is just a matter of not playing for a few days, a week, or more, just to refresh. Anything can get boring if done too much.

Ive gone months without playing any games for no good reason except they just didn't interest me.

I just went through a 'dry' period so to speak. I spent the last 2 months just collecting deals at Circuit city, BB and TRU. I just started playing again after opening Baulders Gate from the TRU buy-1-get-1 sale. Collecting and finding deals can be just as fun as playing the games.

Before that period, the last system I bought was a sega Genesis. I skipped the whole Saturn/Playstation/Dreamcast period altogether. The PS2 release fueled my interest again and I got back into games in 2001. That's almost a 10 year period without gaming.

It's just a phase. We all go through phases, different ones for an entire lifetime.

If it ever happens, I go out and buy another. That solves the problem.

Ahh.. If only I was young again. Spoken like an old fogie. Back in HS I would be committed to 1 game at a time until I finished it. I'd finish games pretty efficiently.

Now, however with school and bar-hopping and more school, the only games I can really get into are short term multiplayer dealies with my housemates. I see most of my friends working in the 'real' world and they don't have time for anything, especially games. I'm not looking forward to that at all....

That's my preferred approach, though it rarely happens since I've been on CAG. I have a number of games which I've started, but it's so hard to find time to play when there's so many other things distracting you, like college. :(

When it happens to me, I just jump on CAG and TALK about games.

*:sighs:* Same with me too >.< When I was in 7th grade and had like...5 games, I would dedicate myself to one game until I was done with it and started the next...now...it's just so hard. I probably have more games than I could finish playing a year straight...

Your friends are doing it all wrong.... I work in the "real" world, and in an industry that has nothing to do with video games (we can't all be defender or Spiritseed) and its great. I have money to buy games and game systems, and after work, I can do whatever I want, I never have to worry about homework. My only beef with the "real" world, is that its a lot harder to have people over for multiplayer goodness, but hey, thats why I have broadband....
