They were holding it like they were supposed to. Glad they knew how to handle it.

Doesn't account for stores responsible enough to hold back preorders, but at least gives you an idea of what you're up against. Half the stores in my area are sold out it seems. Hope it helps the hunters.

For the $50 extra for Deluxe, you get a copy of Nintendoland ($60 retail right now), 32GB of storage vs. 8GB of the basic, a charging cradle for the gamepad, a stand for the Wii U console, a stand for the gamepad, and you also get 10% back on all Eshop purchases until 2015 i believe. I don't like the glossy black because it's a finger print magnet.. but the extra's were too much to pass up

Walmart still have the deluxe system in stock. Hoping that they still have them in stock tomorrow morning.

Thanks, I guess I'll just wait till a store gets more deluxe editions in stock instead of getting the basic model now.

FYI West Coast members, my friend said they are doing in-store orders that can be shipped to your home. He got a Wii U deluxe estimated to arrive after Thanksgiving.

go with deluxe! N-Land is fun! I also like the charging cradle for the Wii Padlet and I can use the extra cradle stand for my Vita.

And 8 gb for basic is weak, because after you make an online account, you are left with barley 3 gb of space. Spend the extra $50. You can always sell N-Land and make money back, as it comes sealed in case.

That sucks, I'm about an hour from there. My Target seemed to have some idea of what they were doing, but I went first thing in the morning so I wasn't taking any chances. When I left, they said they thought all the pre-orders came in, and they were going to sell the rest of the remaining systems.

Well I am 8th on "the list" at Gamestop. I was told they had just enough systems to cover about 10 preorders and no extras. One person did cancel so they called the first person on the list and they have 48 hours to pick it up. Assuming best case scenario and everyone up to me sleeps on it, then I have 14 days to wait before I get called.

Calling around town it is sold out everywhere, both models. So, I guess I am waiting.

One question though, is the system rang up by serial number? Curious if I can find one before Gamestop calls and buy it cash, if I can return the one I eventually get from Gamestop (bought in credit) to the first store? Just a thought to try and get one early.

No offense, but there stock checker SUCKS! I had someone within Target get me local stores that had the deluxe in stock and she told me a nearby Super Target had 14 deluxe in stock and 5 basic in stocks. When I went there, there were no deluxe in stock and 9 basic in stock. Their whole system is out of whack!

I've been trying to follow along with this thread, but there has been far too much activity. I think there have been at least 20 pages since this morning. We need a Reader's Digest version.


Anyway, my pickup today was incredibly painless. I ended up sleeping in and we did some shopping afterward, so I didn't get back until about 20 minutes ago. When I got to layaway, there were two people in front of me putting clothes away (it's so idiotic to put kids' clothes on layaway), so I had to wait about 15 minutes. And then I had to wait another 5 minutes while they looked for my order. They hadn't even taken them out of the shipping box from UPS yet, so they just handed me that and opened it up to verify that my two units were inside. And...that was basically it. The people working there had no idea how many consoles their store got, but they said that only a couple of pre-ordered. I do know that all of their Deluxe models have sold out, though. When I walked by electronics, they only had two Basic models yet.

And now I just need to hook this thing up so I can update it. Probably won't get to play it until tonight because I have to bake pies and quiches. I also need to try to find a longer HDMI cable because this stupid thing looks like it's only about 3 feet long. But first...I'm having some mother-ing Quiznos.


EDIT: I take back what I said about the HDMI cable. I'm not sure yet if it will reach from the Wii U's designated spot, but it's definitely longer than 3 feet.

While I was in picking mine up at Gamestop. Someone called in looking for a 2nd Wii Padlet. The associate claimed they were getting them in next week to the caller. I said, wow, nice lie. He says, "it gets ppl to come in my store". What a douche I thought.

I think this thread needs to be closed and someone start a "Wii is now out" thread. 400+ pages is a lil too much now.

I should have mine tomorrow or Tuesday, from Walmart with Zombie which I am returning. Weirdly my Pro has not shipped nor have Walmart charged me anything yet, not even pending. I find it weird they shipped the system without charging my card, on the shipping notice it says Wii U 32 gig deluxe charge 0.00 shipping charge 0.00 same with Zombie. I wonder if they won't charge until the controller ships or they screwed up.

Did the same thing. Strolled into Target at noon today and they had my deluxe for me behind the counter. I was taking a chance but they kept their word to me from the night before on how they were handling the pre orders.

That sucks, but doesn't surprise me, I got mine from Best Buy across the hall (1 of the 3 preorders they got).

Haters gonna hate man, I love Nintendoland, that DK obstacle course is pissing me off though. hah The games are fun, need to snag a couple more games to play for it, probably NSMBU and something else.
