This search bar is a powerful tool for navigating CAG. You can use it to find the lowest prices on games, trade-in values, search members, forum and blog topics, and much more.
After searching for a game title, click the
icon to pop-up a window with pricing information.
After typing in what you are looking for, you can filter your results by clicking on one of the tabs that pops up from the top of the search bar.
Looking for a game on a specific platform? Type in the platform name with the title!
Example: guitar hero 360
You don't need to click a pop-up tab to filter results. Just type what you are looking for right into the search bar.
Example: gears of war prices
Example: ninjatown review

Yeah, there are a few of us here, I started a thread like this over a year ago (see here http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/...d.php?t=194277). No one replied to your thread because there really aren't any deals to be had here so I don't think many of us look at the regional threads.
Get used to not being able to get in on many of the deals you see on CAG while living here. Many online places, especially Newegg, are out because of shipping, they will only do over night which is ridiculous. We can get the TRU deals but you need to act fast because they usually don't have many copies and then about a week after the items come out they jack up the prices. At TRU new releases are 68.99 a week after they are out and all accessories are higher, at Best Buy too, they run around $3-5 more. Anyway if you ever need help with game stuff or shopping up here, or someone to play online with, send me a message. Welcome to this dump. But hey it's not that bad, we got free national advertising for the town the other night with two murders on two episodes of Forensic Files. |

Luckily I got the BX to fall back on if I need too. Just got here and I saw a few deals at the Target and Best Buy near the bases.
Got a quick question. Is there a good sports bar that shows football on Sundays and has the NFL ticket and a bunch of TVs to show the games? I went to Buffalo wild wings in San Antonio to watch my Pats but there doesn't seem to be one up here. Games starting at 9 a.m. is going to be trippy |

Fred Meyers, Soldotna, Rainbow Six Vegas 1 (360), $10.
The "clearance" section is pretty sad. Virtua Fighter 5 (360) has been there for about 6 months, and it still costs $25. Target, in Wasilla, has a few deals. The clearance section is near the video game section. I got "Legends of WWF (360) for $15. There are a handful of thrift shops. In Soldotna, there's a Salvation Army store. I found a sealed copy of Load Runner 2, on 3.5 floppy disc. In a place called "Bargain Basement", in Kenai, I found a Sega Saturn for $20. I have yet to test it. They have a good variety of games from different systems, even some Atari carts. |

to Alaska. What's this? A PO Box? I'm sorry, but we don't ship to PO Boxes." I really like Amazon. I've saved a bunch with their free shipping. Sure, it may take a week or two, but it's free. Just time out your shipments, and you'll have something to do while you wait. From Amazon directly, most of the stuff can be shipped to a PO Box, but some items can't. For those, I have a physical address that they can ship to. With the sites that only offer expensive shipping, you can normally add a lot to your order before the shipping cost jumps a step. I get from places like this is they have a really good deal, or a hard to find game. |

Fairbanksan here.
You're lucky you have Best Buy and TRU in Anchorage. I have to make due with the occasional Fred Meyer deal and Gamestop coupons. Still, I do OK when you factor in Amazon deals too. Ever see the price of games in the Bush though? I had to go to Bethel for work last month and they were selling Halo 3 for $150! |

Their loss, I just go through amazon. I have noticed on bigger items, like a console, I will get UPS ground even with the free shipping which is nice of them. Anyone ever have luck price matching at BB here, I've tried but they never seem to even know the deals in their own stores. At least in Anchorage we have access to some of the stores. When I lived in Fairbanks from 97-00, I had to mail order everything because there was only Fred's who would get things weeks later or a local shop that would charge twice the price. As far as car detailing, I don't know of any big companies that do that here, mostly small mom and pop type places you'll see around town. I usually don't bother, in a week my jeep is usually just as dirty again. Maybe there is a place on your base that can do it. Welcome to town. |
