I've done 50 horde waves on the new maps 3 times already, lol, so I'm gonna pass on that one, sorry. I still need "I've got this" though (10 kills as Guardian leader on FoN map in one round). I've got hw tonight, but I'll leave my xbox on in case anyone wants to try and knock that out (since this might be the last chance we get).

That is the last DLC achievement I need as well. Just can't get 10 kills before I die or someone kills the leader. Maybe we can get a team in a room of bots and go from there

I will absolutely be on tonite in about an hour and able to shoot for I've got this, or beast or horde, etc.

This weekend is old school horde event. whatever that means, maybe no fortifications and only gears 2 type enemies?

Also there will be the raven down execution gnasher/pistol only this weekend but on every map.

For those who aren't on my FL I'll be online the next couple of hours shooting for some of the DLC cheves if you need another cag

Saw you and DJP get online, but we had a full team and we were trying to figure out how to get you guys in there. I can still help you with what we got tho and I still need help in some earlier stuff as well as the horde and beast cheves. For those who need to do 50 waves, I still need the ribbon for doing 50 in one sitting, but mutators can speed that up.

Had a lot of fun last night just playing as a team on Guardian. We should do that more often! It kind of sucks going in alone when no one talks or works together.

Got my 53rd, 54th, and 55th Onyx medals today. Hammerburst, Rifleman, and Master at arms. Really glad i got that over with. Only have 10 left, and 3 of them i have to do manually. Skunker and Wingman might be the last one i end up getting. The rest im halfway there or better.

the highlight of the evening was, our leader died and then we all went berserk and killed their team in one quick rush. I still chuckle when I think about it...and that team was decent.

I'll be on tonight for whatever. I still need the elemental cleaver kills and beast. I figure I'll do bag and tag on my own time.

I think horde and maybe cleaver are out for the weekend due to the event. Beast is still an option probably.

horde is brutal. Nonstop waves. No "rest" period. No buybacks etc. It's intense.

Now that you guys have the Ivory Skin we'd play even since we don't have to hold out for 10 kills.

wow i was just removed from a guardian match for not playing, but i was, camping like a leader should. And i was well on my way to another untouchable ribbon. -_-

I played some horde and it IS intense. We got to wave 18 i think before i quit because the host was leaving (last guy alive was walking backwards constantly into a wall). But it was pretty cool, brings back Gears 2 horde memories.

100xp, bag n tag takes all of 2 minutes if you do a private KOTH. You dont even have to hit anyone with the bag n tag for it to count. I was kind of surprised about that.

Man..I thought I was tripping or something on sandbar. 1 random quit in the menus. looked around and noticed everyone had bunny heads. Tried to race to top and heard wretches already racing around me. Started my chainsaw and just ran around chainsawing everything. 1 more random quits midway through the level and 1 more quits at the start of 2nd. So it was just me and another random running around chainsawing/sawshotgunning everything. No rest...no barriers...just bunny parts everywhere.

on the bright side, no bosses on the 10th waves!

Two guys quit before Wave 1 even started when I played. Then the host quit, calling us a gay slur for wasting his time...even though we were the ones who stayed in the game. Migrated game made me the host. The last guy quit after Wave 3, pissed because I got 3 Point Man Ribbons, and he was downed in all 3 rounds (though he was always revived by me).

I still don't understand how people don't "get" that in Horde your find a place and hold it, not run around like a dip-shit, then start crying like a jackass when you're downed.

It really was nice to play this mode, even if I only played 4 Waves, so far. It's interesting to see how poorly people play without fortifications to aid them.

I really hope they keep an option for Classic Horde in the menus, as I like not having to compete for the Silverback, or worry about repairs. Plus I like how fast it happens...minus the instant loss of Boom Shields between waves unless you've grabbed them. Even Gears of War 2 gave you time between Waves to collect and set them up.

Yeah the weapons and stuff disappear so fast if you dont grab them before the wave ends. On the plus side ammo is only 1000k and it gave me boomshot ammo when i bought it, 3 x boom. I dont remember it doing that in gears 2. I would also like to see this mode stay as a classic horde mode. I dont really care to build and repair things.

I kind of miss gears 2. I feel like most of the maps that came with Gears 3 are too wide open and more for rifles. COD maps. I sort of miss a lot of the gears 2 maps, even the shitty ones. Especially when i play Guardian. Though i think the FON maps are good, and have a good Gears feel to them. But the maps that came on disc are too open and rifle friendly. IMO thats not gears.

I was thinking about how i wish they could bring back River, but idk if that map would be good in gears 3. With the amount of time you have to wait as the leader before you can move, you would probably end up getting killed before you got to the shack on your side. Either people would rush over or maybe even grab torque/sniper before you make it all the way there. I also miss Security, and all of the snowblind maps.

Is it just me, or has everyone in gears switched to the retro for their rifle? Sometimes in a great while i see a lancer but all i see lately is retros. People just sit back and spray and pray. I use it myself but mainly when im leader in guardian. If im not leader i strictly use my gnasher most of the time.

and im 3 untouchable ribbons from my 56th onyx, yeah played a lot of guardian tonight.

I thought Classic Horde would be awesome, since I really enjoyed it in Gears 2... Turns out, once you've played 2.0, you can't go home again. I really missed the fortifications.

I also noticed that randoms refused to hole up in one spot and defend it, they insisted on running all about the map and got downed constantly.
