Great discussion about the ethics of these paid junkets. It's one thing to go to a party and have a few drinks and finger food, it's another when they pay you to fly out to Hawaii. Cheapy's right when he says consumers ultimately pay for this. Especially when you consider the questionable DLC Capcom charged customers with in 2009. At the very least the press should note that they were flown out to this event in their previews.

Haha, I can't believe that there's people that've never been inside a truckstop! Cheapy and Wombat, you need to visit a Georgia truckstop one day, it's absolutely awesome. You need to visit at midnight, too. It's absolutely magical. Great show, guys. I really loved listening to this show.

I think he has an awesome voice made for radio/podcasts. Sort of like a cartoon character

I was looking forward to this, but now that I know Justin McElroy is on it, I'm not quite sure......his attitude, voice, and mic presence are all horrible. He's the reason why I quit listening to the joystiq podcast.

Justin's laugh sounds like a laughing hyena scratching his nails on a chalkboard. My poor stock stereo system in my Jeep is cringing at his every sound. Love Justin, hate his laugh.

Thanks for vindicating my comment from last weeks show, Wombat. Kinda back fired, huh? Just wondering why I went from sounding super nerdy to valley girl to sobbing child in one rant. I actually sound like a young Robert Goulet.
Great show, cheapy!

Yeah I agree with you. Sorry CheapyD but I can't stand Justin's voice. It sounds like he has a cold and has an apple stuck in his throat or something. Then the snort as a laugh just tops it off. I still like him though, really nice and funny guy. I'd like to see him on it more. Justin was a nice addition to the CAG Cast

Nice show though.

Wombat is a Samoan Jew

Sufferin' succotash! I thought Shipwreck's voice was annoying, McElroy's voice sounds like pennies in a garbage disposal. I guess I'm just spoiled by the velvety voices of Cheapy and Wombat.

Yo, Cheapy, are you no longer uploading the episodes to the Zune Marketplace?

The last two episodes haven't been on there...

Gerstmann talked about the trip

Jeff Gerstmann talked about how the trip to Hawaii for Captivate was on the Giant Bombcast. He said the view from his hotel room was great, and otherwise it was like any event you ever attend where you're stuck working in a hotel all day everyday. Some journalists evidently stayed longer on their own dime, but he didn't.

It sounds to me like the whole junket shame thing is overblown.

I enjoyed this week's show and thought Justin was quite humorous.

I feel that wambat hasn't given Heavy Rain a fair chance. If you have reached a real decision making moment and you see why this game is different. And it has more freedom than you have given it credit for. Wambat you are a movie fan so why not enjoy the "QTE game" the way it was designed for?

I'll admit that I had never heard Justin talk before and when I first heard his voice I was a little taken aback. However, after listening to the CAGcast I really enjoyed his humor. I actually went and listened to both episodes of MBMBAM and was thoroughly entertained.
