No it doesn't. The pre-order guarantee says nothing about price mistakes. Having said that, of all the retailers I have ever dealt with, Amazon is the one that has the best track record for honoring even clear mistakes. If you don't get the game for $60, you will at least get a credit of some type.

I honestly don't expect them to honor the orders. I won't be disappointed if they cancel it because I don't expect them to hold up to it.

This was a $149.99 item that was put up on their site as $59.99, with a tag for the Pre-Order Price Guarantee. It's MSRP'd everywhere as $149.99, so they can claim it's a price mistake and cancel your order for the reason that it's a mistake. Since they pulled the listing for it, it seems likely that it'll be what they do, so orders might get canceled on it, as I can't seem the pulling the item if it was just a low price.

With items that are dropped in price from the MSRP, and in a "reasonable" amount for a drop, then the Pre-order Guarantee applies.

Man, you look away from CAG from a minute and you miss an awesome deal :P

Amazon has no qualms with cancelling orders on price mistakes... they've done it before (Marvel Omnibus price mistake comes to mind the most recently). Good luck to you all, hopefully your orders go through, but most likely you'll get a "sorry" cancellation email and maybe a small amazon credit for your troubles.

I don't think they will cancel it this time. They cut it off soon enough that only a small handful of orders got in. It was only a 10-minute period, so we are talking.. maybe 150 - 200 orders?

It's not worth it for them to cause an outcry by canceling the orders. I can always be wrong though.

My opinion has always been: Get in on price mishaps. If they don't cancel, yay. If they do cancel, depending on the place, you are usually given a small credit or coupon for the hassle.

When I posted Amazon's Pre Order Guarantee. I was simply putting the info out there. Everyone here knows it was a mistake. Some of us took a shot @ a deal. The order will probably not be honored. Then again, there might be a small chance they do. I know I've personally done enough business with them that they would still be way ahead of the game.

They won't honor it but I am hoping for some credit for their mistake.

Come on, folks. I severely, severely doubt Amazon is going to take that big of a hit, no matter how many orders got through. Hell, I really wish I end up being wrong, because I will gladly take all of that swag for the price of just the game. But let's face it...not happening.

For those wondering about $59.99 price for Halo Reach Legendary

Just so you guys know, I called Customer Service and he said I'll be charged the $70 (I chose one day shipping) and the only way the price will change is if it goes down. So thanks to the user who posted the deal!

I take it the deal is dead? Where was it from. I must have been gone when it was posted.

The item is back up on Amazon, at the URL in the OP.....

.... at the correct $149.99 price.

Mine actually just went through. I had it originally in my cart and was checking out when it said that the item was no longer available and it automatically moved out of my cart to the "Saved Items" below. And it's back available now at $149.99 but since I originally had it in my cart at $59.99 I was able to get it for $59.99. So if anyone else had this try it if you kept it in your "Saved Items"

1) This isn't a deal.

2) If Amazon decides to cancel all the orders, whatever one CS told you will be meaningless.
