I will also join if the signup price is a good deal. Muhahahaha! I could not resist that.

I did cut down on buying the lemon games i will never play which is good. I could not resist those sales for $1-3 for a game like pirates of the carb and fantastic 4. I popped them both in and do not see myself actually playing them again. I got them both for like $2 each. They are not really worth selling online so i keep those lemons in my collection hoping sometime i will get my 2 bucks worth.

We need a support group on these forums to make us feel good about not doing a deal.

I will say this i dig the prices on the kmart stuff and think this is a must get deal on MW2 and FFXIII. The others i am passing on just cause the lack of time. I hope the MW2 shipping gets fixed then i will place an order.

The deals online and locally for games are happening way to much and is causing us all these huge backlogs. This is good and bad.

Haha, I think alot of us here are alike.

I mean it kindof makes sense. Not sure on everyone else, but when I was a kid I remember getting like 1 or 2 new games a year. I think deep down I feel that buying up games on sale is good, because you never can have too many games. Generally I'd agree, but when you get so many games built up that you become flustered just looking at what you havn't played then usually it hits ya. I still would much rather keep the collection growing though, one never knows when you'll be able to fall back on the backlog and finish it.

Anyone? I can't decide again. Need to hit the sale up once more.
I'm playing Darksiders at the moment. It definitely reminds me of The Legend of Zelda. However, the characters are boring and VERY uninteresting. Overall, I'd give it a C+ to a B- It's definitely playable, but I'm glad I rented it.

As for Metro, I have it, but have yet to play it. I've a feeling that it will be the opposite of Darksiders, great story/characters...Poor game play mechanics. In my opinion, a great story with interesting characters always trumps poor game play, unless the game's unplayable.

Metro 2033 would be my choice.

Since SHC can't say it I'll say it for him...

you douchebag.
He obviously attempted to buy the game at a Kmart if he posted an inventory of a nearby store. Honestly, you should just stop posting. If this deal is giving people problems, I can't blame them for going elsewhere for little-to-no hassle. We should all try helping our SHC-reps out, but Kmart/Sears' arcane infrastructures are sure to make some people walk away. Maybe next time around when they're motivated enough to attempt another sale, that time it'll go well.

Okay, thanks! So maybe it's still okay. I didn't create an account, so I'm not sure what I can do if they never contact me, but oh well.

Really hoping FF13 for PS3 gets restocked online. Maybe SHC-Gamer can give us an update today. I am able to order Nier for PS3 though, finally.

Finally got FF13 for 360 from the website (no K-Marts here)...was holding out for PS3, but wanted to hedge my bets.

I too have a problem with buying stuff and then it sits in my closet. I just clear out the riff raff about twice a year and list the games I know I am not going to play on eBay. I usually recover most of what I spent. Sometimes I probably come out ahead. I have a compulsion to buy almost any game if its 10-14 dollars, because you know I might want to play that and it wont ever be that cheap again. I have been doing a better job of not doing that. This thread is going off the rails...It took me owning Bioshock for 2 years before I played it! Now I make a point to play newer games right away so I can turn them back out into the world while they still have value...so I can get more games! I just enjoy the experience and don't collect them. If I had the collector mentality my closet would be bulging and my wallet would be crying.

From what I read, the wall scroll was a GameCrazy pre-order bonus, so I guess they are dumping their stock elsewhere.

Oh and, MW2 is now coming up with .99 shipping, but at regular price. I can't win! Maybe Kmart will have replenished if I go this weekend.

Metro's story sucks and so does the characters.

Went a second time, got the last MW 2 for 360 for $30.

SHC, something definitely needs to be done about employees not knowing about these sales. The staff was friendly at this location (as always), and I went Tuesday at 9 am to get a few games initially. The employee then had no idea of the sale (which was ok, it was new) but the prices were ok and everything went well.

Today, on Friday, I got MW 2 and the employee now asked a few questions, like "Wait, why is this half off? This can't be right... did you know it would be $30? Oh, it's a sale? Well, that's a good price then". She was friendly but it was just the fact there was no communication between the staff, because the employee Tuesday morning knew about the sale after I told him and he rang up the games.

Lots of copies of the sale games have been sold at this location between Tuesday and today (they had about 5 MW 2 on Tues, 5 or 6 FF 13 and there were now none), it's just weird the sale is half done and doing well at this spot and employees still have no idea what is going on. Like I said, the employee was nice, but I would have thought on Friday they would know about a sale happening since Tuesday and selling a good bit of their stock.

Plus, I think signage would be a plus... I think some games that don't seem to be moving (like AvP, at this location) would sell a lot better with proper signs.

100% agree. We are working on new communication concepts (newsletters, social engagement, etc.) for stores to better educate our associates about the gaming category. Stores should have signs as they were downloaded but it does require a manual prompting to print them at store level. I believe the communication for this promo was missed by many due to the fact that it is unconventional for Kmart to start mid-week programs - we will look to change that. Thanks again for hanging in there with us.

Sign me up, my over 20 years of Video Game buying, and I'd have to say 50% at best I passed, and 70% at best I played more then ten minutes of.
What can I say I can't pass up a great deal

My copy of Bayonetta was estimated to arrive sometime between May 10 and May 12, but I got it yesterday (May 6). Kudos to Kmart for the fast shipping. Only two days after my order.

Resonance of Fate

A few people have asked about this one now and I wanted to confirm that yes, it is on sale for $37.99 through May 10th.

It's been on sale since April 13th I believe and we currently have about 55 stores OOS so I would call ahead before hand. This was an instore only deal.

Just thought I'd let everyone know again since the thread that I started a while back seems to be lost.

The closest K-Mart around me is giving rainchecks for FFXIII, and the lady over the phone actually knew the price and was telling me instead of me having to ask! Wow, what awesome CS! Will def try to swing by later tonight.

Me too. There's something to be said for the economic concept of diminishing marginal returns. One game, even a mediocre one, provides more enjoyment than a terrific game that adds to a 50-game backlog.
I remember playing some absolute stinkers on SNES when I was younger. I didn't have any other games, though, so I'd play those things to death, and enjoy the hell out of them. I didn't have a Genesis, and I remember wishing I could play those exclusives.
In contrast, I now have PS3, Xbox360, and Wii. I have pretty much all the games I really want, although I have been using Goozex to cut down on my purchases. Red Steel 2, for example, was enjoyable, but not enough to warrant even a purchase and resale. In the past year I've probably played 50+ games through buying and trading. I haven't really gotten more enjoyment, necessarily, than I did from Firepower 2000 on the SNES.
I second the idea of forming a support group. Any suggestions for a name for our support group?

Left work for lunch and picked up Darksiders and Bayonetta. Only had to wait 5 minutes for service (that's a record). But hey, can't complain with these sales!
