this should just be closed. Why keep resurrecting this?

After almost two years new titles have been added. The additions include all three Austin Powers movies, Appaloosa, 2001: A Space Odyessy, Caddyshack, Cool Hand Luke, Dog Day Afternoon among others.

Anyone break the 25 per household limit rule? They keep adding titles so I don't think they'd care, but you never know.

I actually broke that threshold with my last order by a few movies. Chances are I will be finding out soon if they keep close records.

FYI many of these titles are in the dump bins at Wal-Mart for $7.88. If you spend over $35 (about 7 movies) to get the free shipping, you will be saving about $2.88 per title or just over $20 total. Not bad if these are some of the titles you are looking for.

Another thing to note, if you don't have any cheap DVDs to trade in, Wal-Mart also has the disc only DVDs in blister packs near the checkout for .96 each (picked up "Decent" with Rosario Dawson, that movie is ed up!). Of course you're not saving as much, but it's still money in pocket.

So, Invicta, any update on you breaking the 25 limit yet?

About to try sending in multiple copies of Dollar Tree $.01 and $.25 DVDs, since I don't see anything in their terms about duplicates. We'll see how it goes...

Nope, I kinda forgot about trying to send any in. I'll let ya know if I end up sending in for any. The company I work for is in the process of being sold, I'm not going to be spending on stuff like this like I normally do until things shake out.

I sent in Dollar Tree DVDs a few years ago, you should have no problems. Not sure about sending in duplicates, though.

2001 was on the list a few years back, I wasn't aware it got removed/readded. =S I've sent in dollar general DVDs and with my 2nd order. On my 3rd order, I found a wonder book and video with misc. scratched DVDs for .25 each since dollar tree stopped carrying crap generic movies and began carrying actual movies.

Anyway, yeah, I broke the 25 limit earlier last year. They don't keep a record, go nuts.

Just got an e-mail saying they added 150 new titles. I don't know if they actually added that many but there are a bunch of new titles.

Yep, they did add a few new ones. I wouldn't say 150 but a few, lol. They added a few older movies.

They now have all the Austin Powers movies, The Matrix Reloaded, National Lampoon's European Vacation, the 2nd Harold and Kumar movie, Falling Down (one of my personal favorites), the 2nd & 3rd Final Destination movies and they finally added in Oceans Twelve (for years they had just 11 & 13). I only mentioned the movies that caught my eye but I did see some other new titles that either I never heard of or are just old movies.

Not positive but I think that free shipping was lowered down to $35. Guess I'll make another order when I get my tax money back.

Never done this before. Two questions.

(1) Are digital copy only disks eligible?

(2) Are season set disks counted separately (e.g. have office season 2, will each of the four disks count separately when I send them in)?

Thanks

You trade in one disc per title, so you can get four titles for The Office Season 2, or you can trade in all three discs (including the bonus discs) from Black Hawk Down to get three titles. It's also a good idea to buy $35 worth so you can get free shipping.

Do they care if u send in all of the same DVD? I seen some at the dollar store but they were all the same thing. If u can I would definitely get at least one group of blu rays. If not maybe I can see if I can find that bargain bin at my Walmart with those 50 cent DVDs without the case. Those would be good to trade in I think.

Does it matter which disc you send them? May sound stupid but I have some movies that have missing discs like one might have the movie but missing the special features disc or vice versa. I know they want discs only so I'm asking this because a few of my movies are just the bonus discs so would they take those and count a bonus disc as a movie or do they want/prefer the movie disc?

Any commercial DVD can be used. No porn or blanks (DVD R/RW). Dupes can be used. Special feature DVDs can be used, etc. Go nuts.

Ok, thanks. I did read their FAQ but wasn't sure since I didn't know if they'd have a fit about the content on the disc.

So what really do they gain by taking in our random discs? Especially if you got people like me who have been stuck with these bonus special features discs (lost the movie ones somewhere forever ago) and are looking to give them those? I don't see how they really profit in this asides from the money they get too.

It's probably some sort of tax break for recycling discs, plus they get to sell off titles that they have overstock of.

Yea, it is a similar program to Best Buy's Upgrade & Save.

Wow. I did not think this thing was still going on. Do you need to include the case for every dvd?

They prevent your dvd from going on the open market. You get a discount and another person has to buy a new DVD or Bluray instead of your old dvd.
