Wow... Best Buy Cerritos would only let me get $20 off of one copy of Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll, even though the RZ coupon says "Limit 3 of each title per platform per offer." The manager tried to explain to me that it means I can buy those other games but I can only get $20 off one. Yea you
 ing moron I know that I can buy whatever I want, but what it means is that you need to understand the grammar your company uses in its coupons.UPDATE: Went back with 2 more RZ coupons and went straight to customer service and ran into the same problem, so i guess it's a system error. At least the cust serv girl was intelligent enough to understand the lingo on the coupon and gave me the two games on one coupon. Now... I just gotta find a GameStop that will take 3 copies of the same game.

I've never traded games for other games with coupons before:
If I trade in: NSMB + (PS3) CoD:MW2 + (360) Splinter Cell for SMG2 it would be (25 + 24 + 23) 1.6(coupon & edge) = SMG2 and 65.00 overage on edge card right? |

I traded in 3 crappy PS2 games I picked up from a yard sale for $5 total using the 50% bonus trade in credit coupon + Edge and got $29.xx, paid the remainder in cash, and then took the Super Mario Galaxy 2 to another Gamestop on the way home 10 minutes later and they refunded me the full value in cash, LOL. I got back $54.xx cash (including tax). I just turned around and ordered it off their site for $40 + $20 credit.

As for my situation, no I didn't get a gift receipt at all when I made the original transaction - I simply took my three games in with the coupon and Edge card, and I specifically asked if instead of buying SMG2 I could just get the credit put on a giftcard or my Edge, and the guy said "no, for the coupon to work SMG2 must be purchased in the same transaction". So I said fine, the credit with all the bonuses amounted to $29.xx, I paid the difference in cash (about $25 including tax). Receipt showed the trade ins with the bonuses and also the Super Mario Galaxy 2 purchase. This was at the location right next to my office, which I hit when I was leaving work...I then directly went to another Gamestop that is along the way home, took the receipt and game into the store and said I wanted to return it because there's a better deal online. The girl scanned the receipt, scanned the game, and said "would you like credit or cash back?" I was surprised that they would offer cash back or at least full cash back instead of the exact credit/cash combo that I purchased the game with, but nope she gave me the full cost of the game in cash without a problem. |
