They generally won't bother unless people can actually order it from the site at that price. Since it's OOS there's no reason to match it unless they feel they want to unload some stock at the price. |

I doubt Atlus ever thought 3D Dot Game Heroes was going to be a big hit. Atlus games rarely sell in huge numbers, which is why this back and forth is retarded. Atlus even priced the game at 39.99 because they realized its a very niche title that won't get much marketing or attention. Despite the little marketing compared to other titles, the game sold a respectable amount of copies. 150K sold in America since May 2010 is a success for Atlus. Period.
Also, compare this to Demon's Souls, another niche title, but one that has gotten way more attention and hype than 3D Dot Game Heroes has, and that has only sold about 360K in N. America since Oct. 2009. Anyone consider that a failure too? because I assure you From Software and Atlus do not. The problem with some of you is you look at the sales and compare them to numbers put up by big time publishers like Ubisoft and ActiBlizzard. That's stupid. You have to look at the sales relative to the publisher. Perhaps one day shosh will grasp this. |
