I have the japanese version of the book. I just want to see if it looks the same or not. If its different, I wouldn't mind dropping money to get another vc artbook. Also the ability to actually be able to read it would be a big plus

^its identical to the japanese version, except it has english text. all of udons translated books have been like this (okami, re5, darkstalkers graphic file, etc).
the only difference i can think of would be for the upcoming monster hunter book which actually combines the previous 2 book monster hunter set (b&w sketch book and color book in a slipcase) and squishes the aspect ratio from 2.35:1 to 1.66:1, causing a distortion in the artwork only noticeable if u've seen the japanese version.

soo to answer ur question, theres not gonna be any new artwork, just english text.

On the 29th mine was updated from Aug 22-26 delivery to Aug 11-17.
On the 30th it was shipped with an estimated delivery of Aug 8!

First I've heard of the "1 year old orders are cx'd". A bunch of orders did get cx'd, but nobody really knows why. Best guess was that Amazon got bad info saying they were shorted, so they started canceling the newest orders first. I don't have much evidence except that I was one of the first in this thread to order it, and I never did a cx/re-buy to get a price adjustment, so my order date stayed the same.

I can't wait to check this beauty out!

Mine still says Aug 11, which is alright I guess since I won't be home to enjoy it until around that time anyways

It's only if they don't get a fixed date on the order or the date changes too frequently. I forget, they have a unwritten rule about this- it might not be 1 year but if the order is delayed more than x number of times within a year.

Mine still says Aug 11 and I have prime. Of course mine was one of the reorders placed after amazon cancelled my original order. As long as I get it I will be happy.

No changes in mine, and it says the latter part of August.

Mine shipped out and will be here on August 3rd!

My copy got here last night! Looks gorgeous. It came in one of those wraps around the book type of cardboard mailers hate those things. Has spots on the binding edge where it got banged up a bit. I wanted a mint condition one but since I've waited so long for this I'm going to let it slide. Haven't leafed through it yet, but the binding looks adequate and the weight still supprised me. Wonder how much a hard cover will cost and how much more it can weigh.

Is there any announcement of a hard cover or are you just hoping?

Some of you already have yours? Damn, mine's not being shipped until August 7th...

Udon makes hardcover guides for some of their books, but they're exclusive to their website store and there's an insane premium on them. There is no VC hardcover that I see listed but you can see what's available here.

Just hoping. The price on it would be $80-$100 for sure though. I think I like the series that much .

Mine just arrived! Ordered Aug 20, 2010. LOL. Only took, what? 348 days?

HUGE book. Very nice quality. Tons of pics and text about every facet of the game (characters, vehicles, weapons, pre-production, etc). It's nice seeing so much commentary rather than dry descriptions of items.

Mine arrived in a large cardboard box (not the svelte cardboard mailer). Bubble bladders kept it from moving up and down, but it had plenty of side to side action. Very large ding to one corner. I think I can flatten it out, though. I'm just happy to have it in hand finally!

Upon closer inspection my copy has some weird orange smears on the back in 2 different spots that are clearly visible. I'm considering sending for a replacement. Am I overreacting? I got it for almost half the price so that's a big plus. What do you guys think? I haven't opened the plastic sleeve the book comes in so this happened during packaging is my guess.

Mine came yesterday, too. Also in a box with bubble bladders though it is in pristine condition. No marks, colorings, or anything wrong with it!

The book itself is awesome. Glad I bought it when I did, and can't wait to read through all of it.

amazon just posted a preorder listing for valkyria chronicles 2 : world artworks book. i posted a thread for it on the deals page
