I care, I care a helluva lot. I've waited 2 years just to watch t because it's such a showpiece in 3D and now I'll obviously have been hit with the triple-dip (assuming I bought the Super BluRay edition which I didn't).

I know it's standard for these absurd rerelease schedules to have new versions of big "franchises" coming ever 8-12 months but this is getting ridiculous.

The 3D Triple pack of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Monster House, and Open season dropped back down to 19.25 in pounds which works out to about 32.50 shipped to the US. This may have been posted before but it had spiked up to 35 pounds so I have been waiting for another drop to this price range and thought I'd share it.

Thanks, I picked 1 up. That's not bad for 11 dollars for each movie. I just hope they are Region Free.

Slightly off topic, but I finally rented my first 3D movie from VUDU with the credit I had. I got Piranha 3DD and I noticed it had some ghosting...really bad in some spots. I only rented the HD version, not the HDX. Is there a noticeable difference between the two?

Bolt & Nightmare Before Christmas are both $19.99 at Best Buy, Coraline is $17.97 too but from what I've read in other forums for those that care the slip is a hit and miss.

I picked up Coraline and Nightmare Before Christmas, I would have picked up Bolt but I was unsure if I had it on 3D or not which I don't. =/

I only got a few minutes into Nightmare Before Christmas when I noticed one of the branches on the tree with the hangmen was at the wrong depth. It's right at the beginning during the song. On the right arm, his left, there's 3, I think, vertical branches and, if I remember right, the one in the middle is at the wrong depth. I did the whole rewind pause thing to double check and after that I stopped watching it. Part of me wishes I didn't notice it at all but after I did that's all I would be looking for. Not that I was looking for it to begin with, it just really stood out to me.

That says 3-disc while the regular release is only 2 discs - a 3D+2D movie-only disc plus DVD (which seems like the original DVD release). I wish they had included the original 2D blu-ray disc instead of the DVD as that was loaded with bonus features. I hope these bare-bones 3D releases like Avatar and I, Robot don't become the trend.

I thought the 3D was well done. No pop-out or wow moments, but depth added to all the scenes. Didn't get that cardboard cutout look that you tend to see on poorly post converted stuff.
One thing to note is that the 3D is 1.78:1 vs OAR of 2.35:1 so sides of original are cropped & extra data added to too & bottom. Though, I thought the opened up picture helped for the 3D by letting you get more immersed.

I've been getting conflicting reports regarding the quality of the 3d for 'l, Robot'... so I think I might hold off.

I stopped in to Best Buy to get a flyer for an 'Abraham Lincoln' pricematch @ Target and noticed the sale price for 'Coraline', but I'll have to go back in to get my $15 back on 'Nightmare'... no biggie!

Are you saying you weren't sure because of the art on the box? If so, this is what it should look like:

I wasn't sure because I have over 1300 movies.

Oh..."if you had it"...duh, I thought you said if it had 3D. My bad!

Nice collection!

Watched both Coraline and Fright Night that I picked up from Best Buy. Coraline was pretty good, definitely one of the better 3D movies I've watched. If you're a fan of Coraline, you should definitely pick up the 3D version. With Fright Night, I noticed the same exact thing others have mentioned which is that there are some sections that are way too dark. Most of the 3D was pretty low-key and not worth writing home about BUT the (slight spoiler) vampire disintegration kill scenes were some of the best 3D effects I've seen in any movie. A really, really cool effect to see in 3D.

I think I'm gonna have to go back and pick up Nightmare Before Christmas (despite trying to watch my spending and already having the 2D blu ray)...

The Coraline 3D I bought today didn't have a slip, but it was the last copy at my store. I'll keep an eye out in case I have to do a "return/rebuy" for a dumb slipcover.

At least the Nightmare Before Christmas 3D bluray I bought today had a slipcover.

we are 3D fans and love pop up that's why invested in 3D tv and buy relative expensive 3D disc format but this year was almost without Pop out except KungFu Panda2 (whose story sucked) Still best well done 3D movie (with POP) is Resident Evil AfterLife & it was released in 2010
i started to lose hope on 3D future - Even Hobbit `ll be like Hugo ...just depth and 7% POP

IMAX can replace depth very easily over time .

Madagascar 3 was pretty good pop 3D. I'm glad DW isn't following Disney/Pixar way of "oh noez can't scare the kidz"
