Having to receive the points by mail is ridiculous, as it's just going to create needless waste. They should be sending the points by email. Not that it stopped me from cashing in my 300 points on 300 Microsoft points, though.

I also removed the toolbar and Silverlight and Windows Live sign in assistant, or whatever it was called, via the Add/Remove Programs. I don't plan to do this any more, just glad to get the 300 points.

Guess im gonna cut my losses on this one, most annoying toolbar ever, thank god my firefox wasnt the newest version or else it would have installed on there too

What about disabling it on Firefox? Doubt that would do much, but it was pretty much necessary since it essentially broke Firefox (plan on doing this crap through IE).

Yeah can we get a update on the first post when we know for sure, when the offers update?

Im gonna get a reply from Bing Support about the Codes (if mailed or emailed) in a couple hours (like i got yesterday) so we will know for sure

From MS's perspective, mailing the prizes makes sense. They are trying to promote Bing, so if they emailed the points people would just uninstall it right after. Since the order is cancelled if you uninstall the bar and it takes 8-12 weeks to ship, it ensures people might use the toolbar more.

You'd be surprised how many people lose sight on the purpose of promotions. The search bar is a bit annoying, but I only installed it on IE. I left Firefox alone.

A lot of those prizes are expensive... are there plans to continue this after Oct 2nd? I think it's a great idea. I actually like Bing's search. I like that videos play from the browser instead of clicking the link. That's a nice touch. I got my 20pts in yesterday, need to do that again today to get another 100pts before the 2nd. I'll have some left over. Much better promo idea than Club Bing games...

To everyone who can't uninstall the bing bar from firefox(i just disabled it), I heard if you run FF with admin privileges it lets you.

Great. Sat through this crap and ordered 300 MS points. Went to go make some food and my roommate thinks it will be funny to uninstall the toolbar. Kicked his ass and reinstalled the toolbar. Just contacted Support to see if that means I forfeit my prizes since the toolbar was uninstalled, even though I reinstalled it minutes later.

Hopefully I hear good news back.
