ok a few weeks ago i posted that my 60gb died and asked you guys on what i should do? Just so happens my dad had some best buy rz coupons ($60) that wehre about to expire. So i picked them up and bought the 320 infamious bundle. so after playing and enjoying the new system i need to get my old game out from the 60GB so before i openned her up I tried one more time to power her up and she came on. So i took the game out and clear everything on the system. So now its working and just woundering if the amazon 122 trade in credit is a good deal? Still have everything right down to the twist ties that came with the game. I dont want to sell it to some kid on ebay or craigslist due to i would feel bad if it died a week later the kid? any help would be great

From reading other threads on this site and others, I'd be careful about trading stuff to Amazon. Seems like they'll almost always degrade the value and give you less. I honestly wouldn't trade my 60gb for $122, kind of low. You can probably get more elsewhere. Some used on ebay have bids for $175-190.

Just send it to sony and pay them 99 bucks they'll send you a refurb 120g slim in a week. Thats the best deal, I just did that last week. Considering you'll only have 2-3 yrs of life left with the PS3 till the next generation starts, I can't recommend spending 300 bucks or more on a new one.

If you prefer cash CL is still an option if you are honest about the condition of the console. Just clearly state what the problems have been and note that it is sold as-is. There are many people around here that put up ads in the video game section looking to buy dead consoles to repair and flip and they specifically look for the BC models.

This seems like the most honest route to go...
