I decided to believe him and he said he would compensate me with games worth more than the value. On that day, he gave me a Dead Island Key (Eastern Europe) to construct my trust. At the moment, I didn't know that Dead Island keys were leaked. The value of the keys is $2.50 at the most in Russia. After downloading the game, I played it for about 2 hours and the next day it was disabled and I couldn't play the game. Two days later I'm left with a blocked "Trunks" on my buddy list and I have no way of contacting him. I posted a scammer thread at steamtrades.com soon after and he contacts me within 15 minutes of him seeing it telling me he blocked me for his convenience. Again, I decided to believe him. (LOL NEVER AGAIN). We discuss a little and he's rambling on and on about how he's not a scammer and he discloses to me that his Dead Island doesn't work for 2 lines in our chat, after I ask him to fire it up. He goes on denial afterwards saying that his Dead Island was actually uninstalled from his Hard Drive because he didn't have space for it. Really!? He said he would get me MW3 as compensation. He comes to me with an ACCOUNT withholding MW2 and MW3. This was CLEARLY not in our deal, I expected a traded copy of the game (in fact I didn't even want the game, I wanted Assassin's Creed Revelations which was our original deal). He tells me he wants me to have a good Christmas and logs off. Two days past Christmas he logs on at 9:00 PM and I confront him. He denies the whole thing ever happened, like a total dumb, and calls it a day. YAY!!!!!!! - _ - I believe this child is a Russian scalper. Man I'm sorry to hear this. I have never had a bad experience on CAG but I will be more weary. This is the second one this week. The feedback system is now that much more important. I would only trade inventory items for my copy of DOTA on the steam forums.

Another scammer in my trade log will be posted now. Steamtrades.com user The Kinks AKA Steam ID huganeskimo has scammed me of $19.96 when I bought him Ghost Recon Pack, Rainbow Six Collection, and Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. He stated he was willing to trade me a Skyrim key that he bought at Amazon for the games I listed. He insured me with a couple of terribly old and crappy games, and so I went first. He said that he'd give me the games, I'd give him the games, and he'd give me the key. He logged off after he received his stuff. He blocked me as well. It seems his former ID huganeskimo was deleted from Steam. With some searching I found that his main account is "Chick Magnet" A.K.A. Steam I.D. cunttts . He is changing his name now; also his Steam ID some how.

If you're reading this I will be posting this on several websites. it's quite simple. dont trade for keys/indie bundles. if it's not a steam gift avoid it like leprosy. i've traded off 7 games with no issues. if they're offering a non-tradeable steam gift (buddy sent me CS:S, which could be gifted but not traded) check their rep either here or the steam forums first. just a few friendly tips from a steeam trader.

That really sucks man. Thanks for making us aware. I think this is just a reminder of why to never send something without getting something back on a trade at the same exact time. The feedback system here is helpful and I like to think this community is very solid. But you still have to protect yourself. Im sure plenty of people here still pay the paypal fee when sending money to others here with 50+ feedback. Those people are protecting themselves.

Ive been scammed on the net and I know its not fun. I feel for you. I learned my lesson about 10 years ago now on that scam. Im sure you'll learn something from this one. Thanks for the post to let us know.
