Oh good God, if I could punch a random ME3 MP player right now I would. I've been trying for 40 minutes to just get in a good game. I don't even care what level or what map. Is anyone with half a brain online tonight??

Maybe that's a sign I need to start my insanity playthrough......

Shoclwave and Pull are pretty useless - looks like you need Throw to make Insanity much easier. My son has gone through about half the game on Insanity as a Sentinel. ME2 was painfully hard in Insanity with the Vanguard but I got it done. It just seems like there are many more tougher enemies in ME3 though (Atlas, Banshee, Brutes, etc) and I noticed that Shockwave, in particular, was far less useful in ME3 than it was in ME2. I chose Vanguard specifically for that and it turned out I didn't use it all that much in ME3. And Pull is not nearly as good as Throw.
With a high cooldown percentage, vanguard seemed more than viable for an insanity run.

I was running around with Javik and Liara, though. Usually started off by pulling an unshielded enemy with Javik, charge and detonate an explosion. Then midcharge or before I'd have set up another explosion with Liara, and detonate that with nova. I only got to Priority: Tuchanka, so I didn't encounter any banshees, so I can't comment on how hard they are. Brutes weren't that big of a deal, nor were atlases. It's usually the little guys running around pelting you while fighting the big guys that were the problem, but as a vanguard, it's pretty simple to break off and mop up the area while fighting the bigger ones.

Despite the many times I ended up faceplanting because I didn't analyze the battlefield properly and got stuck overextended in enemy territory, it was definitely more satisfying than my adept insanity run, but I didn't like the critical choices I made on that ME2 import save for my vanguard, so I ended up shelving that career.

Hell, I can only imagine the exploding potential of a save with Kaidan in it. Sadly, if I want to experience area reave + charge / nova in single player, I'm going to have to start from scratch in ME1 or ME3 to do that. And considering the default choices made starting fresh in ME3, I'd probably go the ME1 route.

Talking about this is making me want to play MP, but I've been getting disconnected from the servers a lot lately, and I feel like a douche when that happens. Probably see how my luck fairs tonight.

Claymore in MP is underrated.

Show it some love with a infi on Gold and you'll be surprised how dominant it is.

I've been running into a very different problem. Out of my last 10 games, 9 times the 4th player has left the mission part way in. It's really getting annoying.

On the plus side, I've been having tons of fun with my Salarian Infiltrator, now that he has his Valiant

How am I supposed to play a Geth Engineer, exactly? I tried playing him but I got my butt destroyed.

I dunno, man, I'm not very good compared to most people in general but I do pretty well with this guy. Maybe it just suits my style of play or something.

Are you using Hunter mode? With that you can see all the enemies behind cover (and smoke) and that seems to be enough to give me the upper hand in a lot of situations. You can do a quick 360 and see if anything is sneaking up on you - then concentrate on the area with the most enemies. I definitely see the hordes coming before the other players. Also, the turret is awesome - just chuck it out where there's a choke point or spawn point (or in the midst of an oncoming horde) and it will rack up assists for you if nothing else. Then you also get to spam Overload. I usually hit something with overload, then pound it with the Assault rifle. You have to be a little careful with shields in Hunter mode since they are weaker. And the washed out colors and white lines all over the screen make it hard to navigate the levels. The times I get killed it is usually because I'm bumping into an obstacle I can't see and getting blasted by something at the same time.

Hunter Mode, toss turrets behind mobs or as a sentry, i use pistol only and a geth SMG and spam overload and shoot em in the face. I prefer to play the Sentinel and Adept but each class does have a playstyle its own and when you get the one you fall into, you will notice your ranking rise. I play Bronze during the day while my kids are running around in case i need to step away quick, but 98% of the time i am ALWAYS first place unless i am just weapon testing and even then most of the time.

Striker AR + Turian Soldier + Marksman + AR stability mod + Armor piercing mod or extended clip = mass area carpet bombing.

I never really understood the point of Hunter Mode. All I know is that it makes it a lot harder to see things and it doesn't go away until you de-activate it. I think the Turret is good, but Overload is well, overload. I think what bothers me about the Geth Engineer the most is his low health stat. 325 just doesn't cut it, especially when shields are cut through like paper by the AI.

Also, played a bit of SP tonight, and it's going to be annoying when I finally try to beat it due to the fact that I'd need 100% of the Galaxy behind me to get all of the choices available to me. I'd need to play an hour of MP before trying to finish the final 2 hours or so. What a crock.

My wife and I were laughing our asses off tonight. I was in a random Silver group. I was eating dinner so mostly I was just spamming throw. Around wave 7, everyone's down but me, so I do what I can to survive, but in the end I get hit from behind, game over. Then as I'm bleeding out, the shit talking starts. "Opterasis must be level 1, all he did was throw, he's so bad, learn how to play, blah blah blah." Then the final scoreboard comes up after I bleed out, and I was in first place by plenty. Is it really necessary to badmouth someone because they're spamming one button when they're obviously keeping up?

It's an epidemic. Some idiot wanted to kick me simply because I beat his score :/

Some people are just far too petty.

IanK his crew and I have a found a new and rewarding way to play MP gold.

Embracing the beauty of the Buttarian hvy melee. We played several 3 vs MP Gold doing nothing but 1 tech power and hvy melee. Slappy happy hilarity followed...I don't know why it was so funny, or why it was so effective it was but it worked.

In other news.

Human soldier, geth SMG, heat sink, extended thermal clip and A_Rush resulted in seemingly endless fire. The "blowdryer" or turbine engine was highly effective and entertaining w/"type" ammo.

New life in MP all because of the DLC & some CAG's.

True you have limited health but that ability to see enemies before anyone else is invaluable if you relay that information. Also It's so satisfying getting headshot after headshot when enemies are behind cover, (or cloaked). Oh hey there nemesis, I didn't see you. Oh wait no yeah I did, headshot!

I'll be on this weekend, hockey playoffs have eaten into my game time. I've started to mesh experiencing both at the same time lol, intense to say the least.
