Geebus. I got the game last weekend and I've put in over 18 hours this week on it.

I was addicted, but then ended up playing some other games and forgot what the hell I was doing. I haven't been able to continue from there and haven't played it since, even though I tell myself I should all the time.

yeah, the best bet is to get far into another game to where you forget about this game(which would make you have to start this game over and waste another 18 hrs away) or to just keep playing until you beat the game.

It's kinda wierd what happened to me with this game. I was digging it for like a week, then I played another game, and forgot about it. I don't know what happened. I like the game, I knew it was a good RPG, it was just too hard to pick it up and start playing again. It's strange cuz that's happened to me on about %90 of the RPGs I've bought and rented.

That was an awkward of phrasing, I really should have said game stopping.

There are certain situations (I believe if leave Mission in sleath mode and she's required to talk during a cut scene for example) that cause the game to stop dead in its track and the save becomes corrupted.

I once was traveling from Lower city to the apartments and the game never loaded. The screen turned black. I restarted the game and the save wouldn't load. Another one was corrupted by the new content.

There are alot of funky glitches through-out it. Not trying to discourage, I played through it on three different occasions with no problems but these problems do exsist.

Hmmm...thanks. I keep several "roll back" save files, usually an hour or two apart so if I screw something up, I can usually recover without too much work.

Update: I put several more hours on it tonight, embarassingly. I just finished up Tatooine and I'm headed to Manaan. This game is so stinkin' huge and I'm totally addicted...playing it dark...but I can't see myself playing it all the way through again anytime in the near future.

The game felt like it took longer through the Light side. The dark side has an insane amount of advantages minus the whole evil thing.

And Manaan is great. It was my favorite planet.

Yes and no, I had a second game that was part way through the game so I was able to visit but I wanted to visit with my better file to have the money to buy any of the expensive items. WHile all I saw was the shop itself, it didnt seem like I was missing out on much.

I'm kinda sad... I beat the game in two rental periods... of course I was parked in front of that game as much as my life would allow... aka 5 hours of sleep... 7.5 hours of work... dreaming in Kotor

But now that I've beaten it, I don't have any enthusiasm to buy it... I had alittle bit of time before it had to go back, so I loaded a previous save game and started to go dark side... that was fun, but not enough to play again...
Oh well I guess I can always load my saved game of Morrowind and try to finally finish that.

But of all the RPGs I've seen, KOTOR does the best job of reminding you what you should be doing. They've got that long conversation log and all of the active quests/completed quests stuff.

Anyone run into the Ermac-esque Ebon Hawk sequence? My game screwed up a couple of times, usually on Korriban, and I would get a weird scene where all the characters were standing in the main room on the Hawk, there was a swoop in one of the rooms along with a droid that seemed to indicate you could use the swoop to go anywhere on the planet, and another droid in the cockpit who would move you instantly to any planet.

I know I saw some other folks ran into that on GameFAQs board way back when KOTOR first came out, did they ever figure out what the hell was going on?

Yep, it's called the Galaxy Droid glitch...I ran into it on a return trip to Tatooine...it's a remainder from a programmer tool that allowed them to planet hop. I don't remember exactly how I triggered it, but from what I understand it's not all that uncommon. I think there's something about it in the Bug/Glitch FAQ on GameFAQs, as well as BioWare's forums.
