Does anyone have any experience buying the online code? I remember buying three 360 games from Amazon back around Christmas that got me three $10 off promos for the online code but when I go to purchase one there doesn't seem to be any discounts and no place to review your purchase before buying it, just a space for a credit card number and then "get code." Is there any way to know if I still have the promotional credit for the code? I seem to have deleted the emails.

Edit: Just got off the phone with Amazon. They only allow one promo per account, so I only got one $10 off the Online Subscription Code even though I had bought three games that qualified for the promo. The online code was never less than $60 though so I never bothered to check it out and when I saw the online code was also on sale for $40 I was really hoping to be able to get a year of Live for $10. Oh well =\.

After you put in your credit card number it takes you to the review order screen and your promotional $10 should appear at the top. You can review the price before purchasing.

That promotional code has always been useless IMHO as Amazon always kept the code at $60 even when the 12 month card was $40.

However I jumped on this to use up the promotional code and get Live for $29.99 which is about the cheapest you'll find it outside of eBay.

Well damnit! I figured when they raised the price, since there was such a price control on these things that there wouldnt be a special making it this cheap again, and having missed that final special microsoft did I just bit the bullet and "overpayed" as it were to renew....sheesh, my CAG karma/timing is way off it seems since I didn't even use said card yet, I could have waited and got this one...damnit....next year I am holding out....assuming I even renew, since at this point I am really questioning the worth anyway...

Yay! Thank you My $10 promo code worked as well. I honestly can't remember where I got it (Perhaps from purchasing a 1600 point card in the past?) but $30 is a great deal

they offered it some time ago when you bought specific xbox merchandise/games if im not mistaken

iirc, amazon was offering $10 promotional credit towards purchase of the xbox live 12 month digital redemption code with purchase of specific xbox games (almost all xbox games were included and maybe merchandise too).

this promotion was going on for a while too a few months back. i think from a week or two before black friday to around the end of Christmas.

i thought this promotion was pretty useless too and my code would expire without being used just like the OP mentioned. the code was always priced at 59.99 and even with the promo code applied, the physical card was always on sale for less than $49.99.

picked 1 up since my 12 month gold live expires april something. i wonder if i have more applied to my account since i bought a lot of xbox games, which were under the promotion a few months back.

I was finally able to use my $10 promo credit as well...$30 for another year of Live? Absolutely! I'm now renewed through 2014 lol.

I have this vague recollection of getting that, but I can't find it in my email and when I went through the process of checking out it didn't automatically show up. Maybe I'm just wishfully thinking. Did those of you who used this have the code already in your account or did you have to type the promotional code in?

no it IS like video game promotional credit and applied to your account when the item shipped. when you checkout with the correct item, it will be automatically deducted.
