On top of that, I'm willing to bet it will be the same as Club Nintendo where it will be the same prize every year. So it's more likely that ultimate will still be the ipod with all the other goodies.

Yeah, buying all the games that you would need to get to ultimate would be spending just as much if not more than the ipod itself. But, if you're buying the games anyway it's a nice bonus.
Considering the prize everyone is awaiting an announcement for is the 2010 prize, you're already losing your bet. The SE members program has only been around for 2 years now, and only the 2009 prizes have been awarded (which happened in 2010).

Also, why would they give out an iPod again? The vast majority of current ultimate members already got one last year, it wouldn't make sense to give them another. Also, Club Nintendo has given out different prizes for both years it has been active. Mario Hat was 2009, Crappy statue was 2010. Those aren't the same by any stretch.

It's likely that SE is waiting to announce the prizes when they actually have them in hand, unlike last year where they announced them 4 months before they even had the prizes day to go. Just be patient.

If people need some cheap codes and possibly some cheap games CAG has had a forum on Kane and Lynch 2 being on sale on Newegg.

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/...d.php?t=292687

I played through the first one and had fun with couch co-op, figured I'd buy the 2nd, get the code, try it out and trade it back into Amazon to recoup some of my costs. (PS3 version has a TIV of $8).

This. The link you give is the 2009 SE year prize, which ran until 2010 and was awarded in 2010. Only one reward year has been complete with prizes in the US so far. 2010 year prizes are the ones everyone is waiting for.

The iPod they gave out last year was 2nd gen, which was almost obsolete by the time it actually shipped out.

I wouldn't mind a iPod 4th gen but of course it won't happen

I love Apple's business strategy so much that I'm saddened when my friend gets the protection plan and purposely breaks his the ipod after a year to get the new one.

Oh why would consumers try to take advantage of Apple when they do nothing but give give give :'(

Give give give overpriced products aimed at people with no technical know-how that want to look and feel hip by owning the latest Apple i___.

They make quality stuff, but they price things on the mentality that they have no competitors. It's really ridiculous.

You really shouldn't give them any sympathy.

I don't believe they are offering any points for entering this time around, just a chance to win the prize.

Yeah, nothing states that you'll get points for entering the contest.

Any advice to people trying to get to a higher tier this year? You guys just hold out for price drops, buy multiplat games, and stock games from last year? Not sure..

Yep Yep A lot of times the games will hit $15 or below on sale. I got a few of the PC titles for $5. I took advantage of all the early registrations they did as well (I think 3 this year?) and that helped a bit

Looks like we might have another game that'll count for registration. S-E just announced FF11 Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition for the PC.

If I recall, normal & special editions tend to count as separate games, so this should count as well, I think.

That probably won't count for registration:

Whoops, sorry about that. I didn't notice it was download only. My bad.

Though I'll keep an eye on any other games coming out.

Hmm... at this point I think it might actually be better than SE is taking a long time to announce the prizes. The longer they take, the more likely they will have to make the prize better to apologize for the delay.

I can just imagine the post announcing the prizes opening with something like "We apologize for the delay, but we think you'll feel this year's prizes were worth the wait..."
