Right, im fairly new to noscript and still working on my whitlelist, so usually i can google urls that ive never heard of that the sites i use might also use. For instance the com.com domain that CNET uses that i had never heard of previously.

Why is 209.15.236.80 triggering noscript on CAG? Why does it need to run scripts?

Is it an ad or tracking service like google-analytics/googleadservices/quantserve or is it integral to site operation instead like googleapis?

I havent experienced any problems though noscript has the unfortunate side effect of making things disappear automatically so i sometimes dont know something is 'wrong' at all

Currently its blocked by default so i would appreciate any input on what it is and what its used for.

-Thanks

I think thats one of the ad servers. I suggest using Adblock as that will greatly reduce the number of scripts that you have to figure out if they are doing anything useful.

i use adblockplus and ghostery as well as noscript.

What made me think it /might/ not be an ad was that ghostery only shows 4 trackers so whatever it is is only showing up on noscript:

Ghostery: Facebook Connect - Google Adsense - Google Analytics - Quantcast
- - - - - - - - ^ - - - - - - - - - - ^ - - - - - - - - - - - - - ^ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ^
Noscript: facebook.net - googleadservices.com - googleanalytics.com - quantserve.com

the first 4 of which have there corresponding domains i need to enable in noscript to allow them to work(assuming ive allowed them on ghostery too).

Its completely possible that "209.15.236.80" is an ad service that ABP and ghostery dont catch but noscript does, but it just having a ip and not a normal name with no sensible google results really threw me and made me think it might be a part of CAG. oh well

I guess it remains a mystery. no big deal i guess.
