To be fair though, if what Atlus says about the Deluxe Edition only being built for preorders is true then this thing will get stupid amounts of rare like that Dragon Age 2 Signature Edition. I remember going to a Gamestop a year or two ago and they had a bargain bin filled with the Shin Megami Tensei game.

Is the japanese game out yet? If so what kind of reviews is it getting? I am pre ordering this either way since im a Persona fan...but at the same time I am nervous that this game is going to have a hella cool story but junk gameplay.

If this LE were even half as cool as the Persona 4 Social Link Expansion Pack, I'd totally be in for it. Unfortunately, it's really not even close.

Even if it becomes rare, though, how many people are really going to be willing to shell out a bunch of cash for a pillow cover and a pizza box? I mean, hey, I get the appeal of collector's editions, but honestly, the extras in this one are just lazy.

I bought one of those and sold it for $150 like a week or two after it came out. I really wanted to keep it...but that was too much money to pass up.

Atlus plays way too many mind games these days for us to predict what's going to be rare or not. I mean, they kept saying how the Devil Summoner 2 set was going to be so limited and yet, when the demand was, there they just increased the pre-order quota. Stuff like Persona 3 and Persona PSP special editions weren't rare but Demon's Souls was.

I honest think Atlus just trolls people with this crap... they release 1 thing that's actually rare and then release 9 more that aren't rare but people buy it up thinking it'll be rare like the first thing.

That's not a special edition game... that's just the SMT Persona 4 "expansion pack" (or something) that included a shirt, calender, plush, and some other stuff. I still have mine somewhere... it was a neat set for only $30.

Hm . . . Damn, I really like the 360 cover art more, but . . . After watching the side-by-side comparison video about halfway down that page, I'm leaning toward the PS3 version. The differences weren't huge, and probably wouldn't really be noticeable while playing, but I did feel like the PS3 version looked slightly (and noticeably, when put side-by-side like that) better. The game itself is more important to me than the cover.

Besides, I'd feel weird about playing an Atlus-developed game on a non-Playstation console (when one is an option) anyway.

After watching a couple of Japanese game play videos, I think I feel even more confused about what this game actually is than I did before. And yet strangely I also feel more intrigued by it.

Yep game was not included with this it was a "companion item". Yea my son has "Teddy" I still have a complete set of it in my basement trying to get rid of it as I have 2 of them (won it from PLAY magazine). Still slowly working my way through P4.

Anyway back on topic.

Preordered this definitely looking forward to it "rare or not* will definitely use all of the items provided. Plus looking forward to the artbook as I love the art for all of the SMT games.

I love weird games and I can't wait to play this. I'm on the fence about getting the deluxe version because nothing really jumps out at me...especially for the price. Although I know Atlus only makes this stuff in super limited quantities so the price is only going to go up after it is released.

I'm going to think it over. Definitely getting the game, though.

If you want to check out the gameplay (when PSN comes back up) download the demo off the JPN PSN. It gives you a good overview of the gameplay and is pretty easy to navigate even if you do not speak Japanese. This game is not an RPG as I am sure people have said. I compare it to a modern day Q*bert.

Wow all this hype about rarity and price, but how is the game? I looked at gameplay video demos and I see a puzzle game about climbing stairs. I am in no way paying MSRP for climbing stairs. Give me a game that offers replayability that actually requires a strategy guide like Demon Souls and still payable years later and I'll buy the CE.

Once you solve the puzzle, how can it be replayed, wheres the value for MSRP?

The demo been removed from Japanese PSN I think. However there are some youtube gameplay video

It is puzzles but also "social networking" there are quite a few endings I believe based on who you pick "Catherine or Katherine" and your social networking.

If you have ever played any of the Persona's on PS2 then you will understand the social networking part.

If the patch that was released for Japan isn't included on the NA disc, you may just need a guide to finish the game. Just sayin'

I expect huge amounts of crying from people on message boards if that's the case. God knows Americans' tolerance for painfully difficult content is way less than the Japaneses'.

And to be fair, DS is playable still but online servers are down >.<

Glad I waited to preorder this... gonna send some games to trade-in towards it. It can go right next to my Record of Agarest War Limited Edition.

And I have the import. It's amazing.

I think Im in. The pillow case will go well on the pillow next to the one covered by the BK king. The shirt I boxers I may where during designated role playing hours.
