Well that's good at least - promo credit is good for me since it actually reduces the pre-tax total (and therefore reduces tax for those of us stuck paying it).

There's such an ebb and flow to noram - sometimes they're great and reasonable and will accept everything they should (and then some), sometimes everyone suspects that they're taking packages and running them over with a motorcycle in a lava pit, sometimes it seems they're some brand of master conspirators in league with a loose knit team of super villains. At least Amazon customer service almost always seems to come through.

if anyone wants to trade in mw3 for the ps3, now is the time it seems. The game trade in value is 36.20 which is shocking considering just last week or the week before they were selling it for 27 dollars

Can't believe Assassin's Creed: Revelations is $34. Used the Best Buy Pre-order deal to use a reward certificate on it when it was 29.99 and now I can get more for it on Amazon. Fantastic.

If only the 360 version was above $11. Wish they'd adjust that (and Rayman).

Just had a surprisingly good experience. Sent in a ton of DVDs and a couple of PSX games. I marked all of the DVDs as "Good" just to be safe, and the PSX games as "Acceptable" since the cases were cracked, but they bumped every single one of them up a notch to the higher quality rating. It only added around $4 to my total, but it was a nice sign they aren't always just out to downgrade you and try to pay you less.

Yeah, I missed that. I traded mine in to GS for $38 and change with the 50% bonus.

Thanks for pointing this out. I locked in the "Like New" $29.99 copy I got last week. Now I just have to beat the campaign, possibly twice (Hardened then Veteran) within 2 weeks (I already printed out the shipping label).

i did the same thing, just locked it in. not sure if I will trade it in or not, but didn't want to decide and have the trade in value of it go back down, since the value is high for a game that isn't that new any more and has been out a few months
Old 01-09-2012, 03:53 PM   #1469
Cod games are in high demand, you can easily sell mw3 for $30-40 5 months from now (black ops still go for $25-30 on eBay), don't need to hurry to sell til you are really done with the game

i've already beat the 360 one or the single player mission mode, so i got the ps3 one mainly for multiplayer not the single player

Just got off the phone with Amazon customer service, I'm being credited $18.90 after a returned item was mistakenly lost. A return tracking number wasn't issued and it had time to have arrive. It was my fault that it was returned, I sent in a new factory sealed copy of NCAA 12 PS3 that won from MyCokeRewards with a year of SI magazine but I picked the 360 version by mistake after deciding to cancel once and add MW3 PS3 for $34.50 to the trade in. Hopefully this will not happen again or at least I'll be sure to double check which version I'm sending before shipping items next time

I made a very convincing argument in my email to them (details of which are pretty much posted earlier in the thread), as this seemed like nothing more than a brain fart in the middle of their change of processes.

This was the second issue I've had with them in about a dozen and a half trade-ins I've done, which included the $200 TIV fat PS2 scenario. Other one was that they though the title I sent them was missing discs when it was three discs in a four-disc case (original case as well). I re-submitted it and they didn't even blink the second time it was sent in.

Lucky for you. I'm sure you had someone on a good day and they were a little more forgiving than others would have been.

nah amazon customer service is #1 and will generally side with the customer on any issue, especially with refunds

Yeah I've had problems with past orders and sometimes customer service is great,, intelligent, and quick to resolve things and then you get a lazy er that doesn't even try to help and you feel as though your just contacting them for nothing.

I had a lady in customer service basically repeat everything I stated in a chat and it was obvious she wasn't trying very hard, PMS day maybe. I kept having to go into great detail to explain a simple situation and she kept basically repeating the info I had given her, I had to look up the order number though you can pick the order you want to chat about and she should've saw that. I finally just typed "Your a mind reader. You've told me everything I already know" and I closed the chat. Anymore I just call LOL.

Is it just me but whenever I started using the "all" filter, the tracker breaks down on me? I'm forced to select the specific platform to lookup specific values.

After my good experience earlier in the week where everything was upgraded, today I got a massive downgrade and I'm fighting with Amazon.

I traded a "Like New" PSP 3000, which was $72 at the time I submitted it. I said not to return it if they downgraded the condition because I figured there was no way in hell it would go less than "Good" for $65 and I was okay with that. Well, I thought wrong. They busted it all the way down to "Acceptable" for a measly $21 goddamn dollars because they claim the instructions were missing. That's what I get for assuming things, I guess. I'm fighting it.

Update: Resolved. I love Amazon. Don't love Noram. But I love Amazon.

Yeah the CS is nice but stupid. I spent 20 minutes just to get 4 responses out of a CS rep and I eventually just said "You know, this didn't help me at all." and just closed the chat.

Well, the box with my six BD titles that were rejected because they though my "Like New" items were "New" from the TIVs showed up at home. Time to see how badly they screwed them up in the return shipping when I make it home from work.

If you live in a fantasy world where you have access to an original Xbox Monster brand component video cable, $64 could be yours...
