trailer doesn't get me excited. I hope they go through the same origin in about 15 minutes. We've seen it already.

Yeah, I wish they'd skipped the origin. But otherwise it looked pretty good. Looks like they're taking a darker approach to it than the past 3 movies which is good IMO.

Blech. Admittedly the trailer is low qual so it was hard to make out much, and it's only a teaser, but not impressed. Also, Peter looks like that twilight tool. I really hope I'm wrong, but this looks like shit so far.

Am I the only one that feels like it is way too soon for a reboot? I don't get it.

Is the new Planet of the Apes the second reboot of the original? Just wondering. Never understood why some franchises got rebooted so quickly.

I believe that one is just a prequel rather than a reboot.

It's a prequel, but I believe it's paving the way for a reboot of the franchise.

My guess is there will be more movies, but they'll just be independent stories that don't replace or retell stories in the existing movies.

Easy to do with that franchise since it's not really character centered unlike a Superhero franchise.

Yep, way too soon for something that was made less than 10 years ago.
Not holding my breath for this one but still going to watch it.

hope it bombs and studios get a clue and stop rebooting things every ten years.

it's a low-quality recording of a recording (and pictures of pictures).. but it looks like the suit is shoddier than the Toby suits, and none of the characters in the teaser trailer had any personality at all.

Meh. Meh, I say.

After Spider-man 3 I really can't blame them for wanting to reboot.

I've never been a big Spiderman fan (comics or movies) but I don't see how this movie could be worse than Spiderman 3. That was just so incredibly horrible, there is really nowhere to go but up for this movie.

Can't say I find the cast all that interesting though.

Those promotional photos look like a combination of Twilight and a made-for-MTV Spider-Man movie.

Marvel started their own production company, in the past few years, which is why all of their movies have blown cock.

I would need to do my homework on it again since it's been a LONG time since I read about it... but I'm pretty sure that Spiderman 3 is a testament to Sony's interfering with the creation of the project.

Rami hated Venom and intended to do a film just about sandman. I believe that Sony forced Venom into it, which is why the whole thing seemed more cobbled together than coherent like the other two.

There are elements of Spiderman 3 that were just stellar - like the Peter/New goblin scene towards the beginning. The movie COULD have been so much better than it was had those creating it had full creative control over it.

Was Sony responsible for emo spider man too?

Oh please don't let it be more Emo Spiderman. We don't need a dark spiderman movie.

The problem I had with the last 3 movies was the villians were not really evil. The gas, arms, alien, sick kid forced all the villians to be evil.

Glad to finally see Gwen Stacy, hope they do a good job with her death scene.

I Read about that too, but no matter who's to blame it still doesn't change the fact that, that movie was a mess. Nearly all of the returning characters were written to the point where they were all just whinny and annoying and hard to get sympathetic for any of them (Peter's breakdown in the park from the breakup nearly made me walk out). That and it didn't help that at least for me I got the underlying feeling that Tobey and Kirsten felt tired of the film as well.

This isn't even mentioning any of the villains or just how overall everything just felt shoe horned in. So yes, I'm all for a reboot because that third one was just terrible and I NEVER liked Kirsten Dunst.
