Metroid, you really are the kindest person on this board. Maybe I can send you all my games and you can write a detailed review of them so I don't have to waste my time playing?

Disgaea is amazing, funny amd very, very weird. More of a tactical RPG than a straight up story RPG.

I'm playing Wild Arms 3 right now, and the plot of it is really surprising me. It's quite inricate, and teh game does a good job of exploring the main characters' thoughts and backgrounds and motivations.

Depends. If you're wanting a SRPG, do Disgaea.
If you're just wanting a traditional RPg - WA3 is awesome.

wild arms 3 is a fun game, but the random battles are a little repetitive. oh well, that's the same for most rpg's. overall, i like it for the animation, storyline and it's easy to get into.

If you want more of a strategy type RPG go with Disgaea, or if you want more of a traditional RPG go with Wild Arms 3, which is out of the 6 or so PS2 RPGs I've played, the only one with a free roaming world map. (Which is a plus in my book.)

Ok, well I've been itching to play Disgaea anyway, so I think I'll start that up tonight. Wild Arms was also my second choice. I loved the first two in the series, but for some reason got bored with both after about 20 hours. I know it doesn't make sense but I have restarted them both a few times and just can't get to the end.

Yeah, go with Disgaea--and be prepared to shut out the rest of your life, 'cos it's pretty addicting...and funny!...

Let us know how you like it!

Unlimited Saga - avoid at all cost unless u r a die hard fan
(3)Jade Cocoon 2 - Great graphics, unique gameplay -- its like pokemon, you capture monsters and you train them to be your beasts. Breeding your monsters is addicting..
Wild Arms 3 - bleh, is all I can say..average written all over it
(2)Arc the Lad: TOS - The battle system is a mix..a little bit turn based and a little bit real time, the story is also interesting.
(1)Disgaea - Best of the bunch, funny .. engaging .game! If you hate strategy then this might not be the one for you, leveling up your characters can be a chore sometimes.
Kessen II - is this an RPG?

I numbered them in terms of my preference :P
