I'm not a big fan of the "puzzle-platformer" as a rule, but I bought Crayon Physics when it became available commercially several years ago. It's worth the price of admission, I think, by itself. It plays a bit better on a tablet, but works fine with a mouse. You create objects and manipulate them using realistic physics in order to complete levels (basically, guiding a ball from Point A to B). The levels do get very challenging but it's fun and the art style is fantastic.

I was tempted to pick up Cogs recently (it's still on a 50% off sale on Steam right now). I haven't played it but it looks very cool. And Yet It Moves and Hammerfight look like interesting "freebies."

I hope that helps a little. Here are Steam links:

Cogs and VVVVVV are both great. And Yet it Moves is pretty good. The other two I haven't played yet.

BTW, I'm not trying to start a price war here, but I'd just like to point out that Paypal charges a fee for every transaction they make. When you pay a penny, you're actually costing them money. If you really want a free game that badly, just pirate the damn things, don't charge them money.

As far as the games:

1) Crayon Physics Deluxe - a great, unique, "puzzler." I'm 26, but the crayons and puzzles were just oozing with nostalgia and charm. I personally ate it up and loved it. Most puzzles were on the easier side, but there were some head scratchers. But even the easy ones were still enjoyable. Great game to pick-up and just play a few minutes at a stretch.

2) VVVVVV - a solid platformer. It's not the longest (2-3 hours til completion), but the game mechanics are unique, the graphics are retro, music is good, and controls are sharp (basic, but sharp).

Personally - the bundle is worth it just for the two games above. Just to give you a pricing idea - CPD is regularly $19.99 on Steam and VVVVVV is $4.99 (CPD was $5.00 and VVVVVV was $2.50 during the Summer sale). So even at Steam's summer sale prices, these two games were 'worth' $7.50. I've played them both, and feel I got an easy $7.50 out of them.

The other games are just gravy.

3) Cogs - A fun little puzzle game. I haven't spent a ton of time in it, but it seems like something I could get into if my backlog allowed to tinker with some of the smaller games. Regularly = $4.99, Summer Sale = $2.50

4) Hammerfight - Haven't played and know nothing about. Regularly = $9.99, Summer Sale = $2.50

5) And Yet it Moves - Haven't played, but have heard good things about it. Regularly = $9.99, Summer Sale = $2.50

So in total, you have 5 games, regularly priced at $50.00, but if you bought them at their summer sale prices would have spent $15.00. Obviously, not everyone is interested in all the games, but you receive all five for your donation.

I hope this helps you decide if you want to get in on it, and at how much. If you're unsure, like I previously posted, I'd just buy one and donate all to charity, play the games, and if you liked one (or all), come back and donate to the publishers that made them. Either way, you can't go wrong donating to Child's Play and the EFF.

Game on.

Already own 3 of them and wonder if you can gift the extra copies or do they disappear on steam.

I just found out that VVVVVV has been updated to 2.0 and is 2.0 in the Humble Indie Bundle as detailed here:

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011...h-added-notch/
  • Full mod tools included!
  • Custom levels by Mojang Specification’s Notch!
  • A reworked engine, using native C++ instead of Flash. Should run much faster, and “runs on even utterly rubbish systems and ones with no dedicated gpu”!
  • Enhanced resolution support and options!
  • Proper save files, so clearing your flash cache won’t delete your saves!
  • Bonus Analogue graphics mode!
  • !

I had COGS and AYIM.

Rebooting Steam, COGS became giftable... AYIM is not... yet?

I got all the potatoes during the potato sack, and it took a week before I got every Valve game as giftable. Ended up with 2 copies of portal 2.

Hammerfight is one of those games you either love or hate; I loved it.
The game is a little buggy, but smashing a hammer into someone and watching them fly into their buddy never gets old.

Thanks, OP! But I saw this on another forum.

I plan to buy three bundles tonight for $5/each. One for myself. One to gift. One to have a "contest" on another forum with.

Don't be super cheapasses, guys. C'mon, this is a good cause! And always reward zero DRM.

VVVVVV is my favorite platformer in years. Absolutely worth the 0.02 I dropped in the hat.

Gonna probably buy it anyways, but does anyone think they'll add OnLive support like they did with the past two packs?

I don't think any of the games in this bundle are available from OnLive yet. Otherwise I'd bet on it considering how hard they've been pushing deals and the fact that they gave away an indie game recently.
