I bought a set of PX21s, but the wires are really messy. I preordered this set, and I'm going to think about what to do. Thanks OP!

I asked for this for Christmas. I just want a headset to watch my movies on late at night so my wife can stop power tripping me to subtitles and volume level 8. Would this do the trick? I have a crap pair of wireless but the setup was so annoying I had to jump through hoops to even get them to work with my ps3.

They won't. No controller hook up for the microphone, and I believe the Xbox requires input be plugged into the RCA for sound, while PS3 can transmit the sound through the USB.

It should for DVD's but not for Blu-Ray. Read the OP for more info.

It should be okay, just note that you won't get 7.1 surround sound for Blu-ray movies

Do you at least get stereo for blurays?

I bought these to compare to my wired Tritons, will report back.

I have a pair of Tritton 180s that I use with my xbox. I'm getting this for my ps3 and I'm hoping for a drastic difference in sound quality... Hopefully.. :P

What if I wanted a headset for both my PS3 and 360? I preordered a pair. I figure these would be a good placeholder until I get a pricier headset.

if i have a ps3, i would definitely buy this. its pretty cheap for a wireless headset with simulated 7.1

I'm wondering the same thing. I have the Ear Force DSS sound processor and the cheap Turtle Beach headphones and they work decent for what they are. I rarely use them though, as the wife doesn't care too much anymore.

Thanks OP. Order a pair. Wanted a PS3 set anyway, but I needed a pair that would also work well when I want to use XBMC on my PC when my girlfriend is asleep for movies, tv and such.

65$ is a good price, but im gonna wait for reviews first...

I had to pre-order, I don't have a headset of any kind so this will work for the basics and hopefully sound nice with the simulated surround sound.

I think his question is fairly easy to answer and in fact doesn't even warrant being a question. The fact that he was impatient is silly as well.

Since this is a 7.1 (simulated or not) headset then of course it would disable the other audio output settings. It would completely defeat the purpose of it having game audio through the headset if it also output it through the TV/speakers. The whole point of having the game audio through the headset is to avoid it going through the TV/speakers

I would assume once you attach the USB dongle to the PS3 the PS3 allows that headset to be an audio output choice. I cannot see it working any other way.
