While its possible that it was cracked before it was sent, its also possible that just the right amount of pressure was placed on the package that cracked the disc and didnt damage anything else. Expect lots more damage about the holiday because of the amount of packages being sent, and the carelessness of the PO employees because they are having to tote around twice as many things.

I just called them three days ago twice and was on hold for 30 minutes each time, so maybe you were good yesterday too since they usually aren't supposed to be opened on weekends.

And the cracked discs I agree it may not necessarily been done before shipping. I guess my biggest gripe with the shipping in general still is that I'm still receiving poly mailers by the bundle which is just making me quite the angry, and probably not helping at all with the disc cracks especially during this time of the year as you've mentioned.

Also it does appear the items listing are pretty much normal again which I didn't see earlier when I posted.

I really do hate it when Hastings goes through this stretches of gawdy awfulness though.

Has anyone been lucky purchasing anything this weekend using a promo code ? I've tried several items : dvds, blu-rays. cds & games (all used), and the "Boxingday" code still is not working.

It was pretty much non-working a couple of days ago because they removed basically everything that qualified as far as movies and games were concerned as part of that sale because of a huge glitch in their inventory system, so they just went ahead and fixed the glitch, so it'll just work itself out naturally.

sorry i meant friday. Ive never had to hold for hastings longer than 3 minutes, perhaps they had some sort of technical issue when you called that day, maybe it was related to the website issue they were having. I remember one time the phone lines were down completely last time they had a major site issue

Oic. I actually been having the same issue the week before too with long hold times to get through to the phone lines. As you've said they are usually pretty good, and I haven't had any problems before that with the customer service phone before, but it was just strange I've been having problems quite regularly as of late with their customer service phone line. I even asked them about it the week before when I finally got through to somebody and they told me they were indeed getting slammed, so I thought it would've been fine by this week, but still had issues. Oh well.

Usually when Hastings get these big errors during sales what will happen once they get everything fixed is extend it to the following week's sale instead, so basically it will work itself out in the end.

I guess it's pretty much moot to mention this now since everything is basically oos, but Hastings is running a one day 40% Mix & Match if you buy 4 or more for today only.

AMAZING -SPIDERMAN FOR PS3 IS A GOOD DEAL..After the coupon, it is $14..

Can't find anything I want in stock... but at 40% off, it's easy to justify things that I don't really want.

so their sale always excludes game accessories now. i remember getting some Sony ds3 for $18, and Nintendo wiimote for $10 last year.

There was a Borderlands 2 deluxe edition for for around $38 after discount. They are very YMMV for collector's editions, but I've had good luck so far. I'm happy the code works on a good selection of stuff (even it's mostly OOS).
