They are done with poly mailers as they have officially stopped shipping them to stores now, and have begun looking into other possible options besides poly mailers to cut costs down, but hopefully these other options will be better than the poly mailers. However, all the stores will have to still use up their poly mailers they have left, so you may still see them for just a bit longer.

I'm happy that I've managed to check the site while they still had some of The Walking Dead hardcovers in stock - at least one of 'em shipped the other day with the 40% off promo, and I just placed an order for another two of the books. Hopefully they'll ship. Slowly getting my collection built up.

I just started collecting hardcover comics/graphic novels, so I'm open to any suggestions when it comes to what I should look into. I also ordered Blackest Night/Watchmen when they popped up as in stock, if that gives you any idea of what I tend to enjoy. I'd love to get my hands on some of the Batman comics, but they're never in stock when I check. Bah.

Y The Last man. Trust me. It even comes in oversized hardcovers exactly like you are used to with the walking dead.

It's been a while since I've ordered anything from GoHastings. What's their standard shipping like? I placed an order with them through Amazon, and the delivery estimate is between next Friday and early February. Which is a pretty big window.

You know, I just noticed one of the collections I ordered for The Walking Dead was listed as trade paper, even though the ISBN for it lists it as a hardcover when I look it up - not to mention I can't even find mention of a paperback version existing anywhere. Do you think it'd be tough to return if it somehow is one? I'm assuming the ISBN would be different than what's listed on the product page if so (and that I would have a case for my return).

Here's what it was, by the way: http://www.gohastings.com/product/BO.../285204060.uts

I'm almost sure the format's just mistakenly listed, but I'll find out for sure soon enough.

From my experience, Hastings will occasionally have books listed in the wrong format (particularly where it doesn't exist in that format), but they'll get the correct book out to you. Going by ISBN number rather than the title or image or format Hastings lists is the only safe way to go.

They even had one book with the completely wrong title up there and I emailed them about it, but they didn't care to change it. I was nervous the person in store would see "Wrong Title" on the invoice and not know to pick the correct title on the shelf, but somehow they got me the correct book instead of cancelling the order because it wasn't found.

It's all answered and broken down for you in the op, so just open up the FAQ spoiler section in the op.

Hastings is running 2 for $20 new paperback books.

For you graphic novel collectors, there is a shit ton of expensive stuff you can get dirt cheap.

Some suggestions: Walking Dead Compendiums 1 and 2, Complete Bone, Complete Essex County, Batman Knightfall/Knightquest/Knightend, No Man's Land 1-4

I picked up the 2nd Walking Dead Compendium, Essex County, the remaining Batman trades I was missing from above, and a few other books. Don't know if its a glitch or intentional, but I doubt it will last either because it will be changed or stuff will go out of stock. You could potentially have some decent flips if you want to go through the hassles of eBay.

Thanks for pointing that out. Picked up Walking Dead Compendium 1 and 2. Fantastic deal for only $20! If only The Batman Files was in stock right now...

...now I feel a little silly for building up a collection of the hardcover Walking Dead books (which have cost me at least $35 so far, and I'm not even halfway done) when I can now get all but the last year's issues for ~$22. I can live with paperback for that price.

Thanks for the heads up with the promo.

That's a hardcover so it wouldn't qualify on the 2/$20. Plus I think its been OOS/OOP for a while.

If you're going to go big on the Walking Dead, you might as well go for the Omnibus editions instead of the regular hardcover editions.

I prefer deluxe hardcover books where possible, but after reading the first compendium I realized I didn't like TWD enough to want it in that format.
