Thanks for doing this again Penguin, it was because of your post last year I started to check out the DVD threads more, and scored some nice movies last BF too (Unforgiven and Casino Royale, among others) dunno how much I'll be able to get this year (if any, due to finances) but I'll be sure to check this thread out to see what's for sale, since it'll be the best place to find the best deals.

So is Amazon going to be doing that lightning deal calendar they did last year showing you the times of the deals for the weeks of sales? It was awesome knowing what was coming up and being able to plan accordingly. I saw the Black Friday store front up but that didn't really help at all and I'm pretty sure the calendar came out around this time last year.

No problem! I was never into the whole blu/dvd scene either until I started roaming this forum, now I'm nearly addicted... lol. So making this thread helps me too since I have a reason to scout out all the deals!

Yea they should be releasing a calendar soon. They usually put out a calendar once most of the other ads leak so they can match all of their competitor's prices (iirc)

I still have movies I have not seen from last year. I picked up 10 or so at Best Buy for around 100 bucks. I need to start putting money up for this year. Only thing I hate about black friday is all the deals on bluray.

U-571 - $6.99
Snatch - $8.99
Green Lantern Blu/DVD/DC Combo - $12.99

Are those prices from Hastings new movies? Has Amazon ever matched them before? I'd love to get these three.

I'm really looking for Apocalypse Now Full Disclosure and Mad Men Season 4. The rest I'll just be happily surprised by, like Mad Men last year

I'm hoping for a decent price on the Planet of the Apes blu-ray set. $30 or less would be nice.

Thanks OP, this thread will be much help come Black Friday.

I'm honestly shocked that non of the major retailer ads have leaked yet. In the past, we would have already seen at least Kmart or Walmart by now...

Yeah, I don't envy the task ahead of him when all the major ads leak in a short time span. One ad can take hours to accurately type up, pending how fuzzy/complete the scan is.

Last year Amazon matched just about every sale out there and started the sales on Thanksgiving night. I got every single thing I wanted in a span of about 30 minutes without leaving the couch. I'm hoping for a repeat performance this year. Also hoping someone has Breaking Bad or Sons of Anarchy BR seasons on sale really cheap, $9.99 for all the Mad Men seasons last year was nice.

I've heard good things about Breaking Bad and Sons of Anarchy so I too hope they have some sort of sale. The Mad Men sale last year was by far the best one out there IMO.

I would definitely pick up Breaking Bad and Sons of Anarchy at $10 each.

Ah, should've bought it then. Hopefully it's on sale again this year. If not, I'll wait for it to drop back down to $28.99
