This search bar is a powerful tool for navigating CAG. You can use it to find the lowest prices on games, trade-in values, search members, forum and blog topics, and much more.
After searching for a game title, click the
icon to pop-up a window with pricing information.
After typing in what you are looking for, you can filter your results by clicking on one of the tabs that pops up from the top of the search bar.
Looking for a game on a specific platform? Type in the platform name with the title!
Example: guitar hero 360
You don't need to click a pop-up tab to filter results. Just type what you are looking for right into the search bar.
Example: gears of war prices
Example: ninjatown review

So last month, I realized I couldn't log back in to Amazon, even after resetting my password, etc. I called Amazon CS and they said maybe it's a credit card issue which I thought was weird because it's the same credit card I've used there since I joined in 2004. I called my credit card company, nothing unusual. I later found out, that's the typical generic Amazon CS statement for people who get their accounts closed. Last week a good 3 weeks after I couldn't log into my account, I got an email from Amazon saying my account has been closed. The reason they gave was too many "incidents".
But what the hell were these "incidents"? Searching for answers I came across others who got their Amazon accounts closed too from varying reasons that included getting too many discounts, returns, shipping too many items as gifts, and even not buying from them for long periods of time, etc. http://archive.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=908910 In my case, it was because I received too many discounts basically in the last 4-5 weeks leading to my account being closed. Here are my last posts on CAG too along with the descriptions; basically in between August - September, I complained to Amazon CS that Amazon never gave me the promised advertised deals:
Cool, I'm happy right? Well, a couple of days later, I find out that I couldn't log back into Amazon, which later received an email saying my accounts are closed. Worst is that the $32 credit they issued me, are all lost with the account. Tip: If given the chance, it's best if you could ask for a refund rather than a credit. To add insult to injury, my wife's Amazon account which she's had since 2008 and is totally separate from my account has been closed too. No warning, no emails, nothing. All my wife does is just buy books from the Oprah club to read like every other month or so. Really Amazon? Just because my wife has my same last name and same billing address you close her account too? So basically Amazon closed my 2004 account, and my wife's 2008 account just because of $47 refund/credit they issued me in a span of a month. While the tens of thousands of $$$ we, specifically I, spent in the course of 7 years from TV's, Computers, to even Refrigerators, and Lawn Chairs don't mean anything. Nothing I can do about it, since Amazon reserves the right not to do business with anyone once you agree to register an account with them. Anyway, hope you guys never gets shafted like we did. Just wanted to share this experience. Best to you guys all. Happy shopping. |

That's a fail on Amazon's behalf. If they can't comply with their deals than they shouldn't have a store.

Deal discussion is probably a better forum, but whatever.
Have you tried calling? Companies seem to give the cold shoulder via email, but generally are more flexible over the phone. At least, in my experience. |

Let me ask you this; do you regularly complain about shipments coming in damaged when it actuality they are not. Do you complain about how you traded-in a game but it was not accepted for whatever reason and you then demand to be credited? If yes, then that's probably why.

Ouch, that's one of my worst fears. Amazon's ban is so harsh. I know some that try to nickle and dime Amazon's CSR's because they're so generous. I'm not saying that's the case here but for all those reading this, you need to be careful.

That's freaking wild. I'm surprised it hasn't happened to me (I've bought 2 LCD tvs from them among other things) because I get discounts and even went to task on them
For a Madden preorder where they just stopped answering my emails. I love the, don't come back part of the email. I don't like how they gave those concessions and then punished. If anything, just don't give the credit back. |

I sent Support Specialist an email over a week ago, but they have not responded. Researching others complaints, it seems that once an Amazon account is closed, it is closed no matter how much you argue. |

I don't care if this is OT, that's messed up. Amazon has won multiple Cheapy awards for Customer Service. I know I've been happy whenever I had an issue, I could contact their customer service and it got fixed. Now I have to worry that I'll get my account closed.
Amazon had stolen around 90% of my business from other companies. Gamestop, like 1 purchase a year. Best Buy, maybe a couple if I have gift cards. I even price check against Toys R Us when I'm shopping for children's birthdays. Do not want to deal with something like this in the future. |

I wonder if the OP had any gift card balance or credit promotions unused, and what happened to all those funds. Send you a check? Anyways, if it happened to me, I'd just create a new account. |

That sounds pretty extreme given the circumstances you wrote about. Are you sure that is all that happened? I would definitely call(not email but call) someone at Amazon and see if there wasn't something else they are blaming you for? I just don't see them banning you over that, maybe it's a mistake? I've had more returns/credits in the past year than that...

a few years ago amazon went on a banning spree with a whole bunch of "customers" as reported on slickdeals Lol. Basically it was for an excessive amount of returns within a short period of time but you probably know this when you googled.
Maybe people on here will take this as a warning and not make so many claims to amazon chat cs (real or not) expecting to take advantage of amazon's great customer service over a few dollars. |
