Glad to help. May check out those Hennessy locks myself...

I looked back at my old receipts from when I had GAS in the early days of playing... You guys got a great deal on that Schecter from Amazon... but I got a Fender AMERICAN Strat in 2003 at Guitar Center for $349... The list price was 1149

I've been following this thread for awhile & I had no intention of buying a new guitar as I have a starter Squier Bullet, but now I realize its pretty crappy lol. I've been getting frustrated with the high action and was looking into the Deans on Amazon since I have some credit.

I'm not sure whether to go with the Vendetta XM or EVO. Any advantages to the Paulownia vs Basswood body. I have been researching and it seems like the Vendetta has more positive reviews. Unless it is wiser for me to spend $50 more to get a Epiphone SG Special or LP Special II. So indecisive

So, what does upcoming DLC look like? I haven't read much about it.

Game arrived today from amazon. It is much better than expected and all the reviews are positive. I have played on and off for 10 years and know some chords, but no complete songs. I'm going to go through Rocksmith slowly. I am very impressed and can't wait to find some free time to play.

This thread encouraged me to play again. I already have a Epiphone LP Special 2. And love the Black Keys song at the beginning of the game.

Played for a while tonight, haven't played since before getting the Damien (though i used my JS1600 still). Hit 3,000,000 RSP points, need to sit down and do some of that technique stuff since I've been skipping it.

FYI. Things get real when you reach "In Bloom" (for us novices). You gotta fight through it though...it gets much better.

I actually have a 6 pack of those from when we tried to make our own beer last year. I'll keep that in mind when my guitar arrives (possibly today! EXCITED!).

Quick update on the Hennessey straplocks. Went with the Chrome finish (model #nsl7200C) since they were going on my Les paul Jr. and they were a perfect fit. The new screw was the the same size as the old one so got a nice tight fit. Only took a couple of minutes to remove the old and install the new.

Tried shaking, twisting and bending the strap at the ends while attached to the guitar and they held fine. I'll grab another pair in a week if these continue to hold up. Also reattached the strap lock to the strap so that I could wrap a bit of plumbers tape around the base of the post. Did this just to keep the threads from diggin into the strap edge. Figured it wouldn't hurt and hey, it's not visible once the cap is screwed on.

Another plus is that it keeps the strap end about 3/4" away from the body of the guitar. So the strap shouldn't scuff the finish on your guitar. My LP jr already has two scuff patches in two months of use

From what I've seen, Paulownia is suppose to be a step up from basswood, but still not the most desired choice. And I don't think the EVO has the tremelo bridge.

The Vendetta is a solid choice. I have an easier time playing it than when I grab the LP jr. But I'm slowly realizing that I have more fun playing the Lp Jr and I think part of it is due to the neck size. It just feels more comfortable in these mitts that I call hands. My hands only start to hurt after a play session with the Dean. And well, the Damien has made it the odd man out

Though if I had the opportunity, I would switch the Dean out for that Callisto JR I found just to try out the P90s and set neck. It seems different enough from what I've already played

Here's the most recent release:
*(Don’t Fear) The Reaper by Blue Öyster Cult – Combo, Combo 2.
*Space Oddity by David Bowie – Combo, Chord.
*Barracuda by Heart – Single Note, Combo.

They normally do releases every two weeks

+1
I was an absolute noob when I started and In Bloom and Well ok Honey were early roadblocks for me. Took a bit of time to qualify 'em. But once I did, it helped improve my skills enough that I breezed thru the next playlist. Keep at it and you will improve. Look at me; I've been able to push my way thru to Rank 7

This last event was pretty brutal. Had to get 90k on five of the eight songs in the playlist. I can almost move around the frets freely without looking down, except for those big shifts up the neck. Start to get woozy going past the 12th fret

. Well that's the fun and cheaper way to go.

I'm at rank 3 almost 4. I've been taking it really slow although I just qualified for all the songs for my event. Will wrap that one up tonight. Was a lil difficult but still kinda easy. I'm just having a problem getting chords down.

I'm midway through rank 7. I took a long while off from events to master some songs that I really liked (Nirvana songs, High and Dry and I Hate Everything About You) and I've been leveling up some songs through the events now. It's funny - now, songs that I may have scored 25 or 30 thousand on when I played it the first time, now events want me to get 70 or 80K on it... At first, I didn't think I'd be able to do that... Now, I don't even bat an eyelash. I 100% leveled up "Step Out of the Car" last night. I'll play it again tonight. I think I need 65000 to qualify... It amazes me how quickly your skills improve when you just keep playing...

Very true. I was pulling shit out of my ass I had no idea I could do. My fingers were just moving and I just remember thinking to myself, "How am I doing this?!" Was very neat but again, that was on single note parts. I think after this event is over, I'll go back and finish up getting gold on some of the technique challenges.

On another note, I unlocked super ducks last night. I enjoy this version so much better than normal ducks. I think it will help a ton on my practicing.

Wife confirmed my guitar arrived. Can't wait to get home now. Yay for snow storm...

That said, fingers crossed it's not damaged. What should I be looking for? I know someone mentioned the neck and cracking? Anything else?

Got a nice surprise today. The Rogue stereo chorus amp arrived today. It was suppose to arrive tomorrow. Sucks I won't have time to try it 'til tomorrow

On another note, Dimsdale posted a couple other guitar apps in the Apple thread. One is a tuner and the other is for effects

I haven't read this entire thread so I don't know if this site has been posted already. Here you can find extremely affordable guitars and basses. All of them are entry level start up kits but, I think they are decent. I bought one of the bass packs and have been really happy with it. I am a drummer and wanted to mess around on the bass. I plan on picking up one of the guitar packs.

Hope your guitar arrived safely, I'm not sure if yours was a Vendetta like mine, but definitely look at the head stock and the neck to an extent as well. The body on the vendetta is pretty solid but the way the head is designed makes it really easy to crack the pointy tips if it's dropped. Definitely a good idea to grab a strap with this model asap, but as I learned this week, spend a bit more on a strap because the cheap one I bought was a pain in the ass to put on (good news is that I don't think it's going to need locks though )

That tight fit is a good thing. Unless the strap-end ripped in the process

Well, Amazon jacked the price back up on RS. It had been at 60 for so long that I thought other retailers were going to follow suit. This is an Ubi title afterall.

Thanks. Good to hear from someone that has used some of that gear.

I recently found out about them and posted some review links a few pages back. From what I could tell, SX is their lowend stuff and Agile is their highend stuff.

Played an event last night. Did well on all the songs. Got encore. Up flashes "High and Dry" Master Mode encore - and I didn't even see where it told me which of the three arrangements it was... Punishing. At least I got to play a while yesterday. My parents picked up my little boy yesterday from day care and I got to work from home
