Yeah, the last boss requires some patience. If anyone is thinking about getting the collectibles in the game, I suggest they get the Marks of the Gods before they go into that last battle. The reward that you unlock makes it much easier.

If anybody is put off GW2 by the difficulty of GW1, this is much MUCH easier. Played it on my brothers system & completed it in an afternoon which is the only reason i am not buying it.
Lol. I didn't say the achievements were easier in GW1. I was speaking in general. I have I think 4-6 achievements in GW2 but only like 2 in GW1. Both games' acheivements are challenging to get but GW2 is definitely easier to get some gamerscore out of than GW1.

Outland is a no brainer for 400 points. As a metroidvania, it's very linear and the puzzles are far from challenging, but the Ikaruga mechanic is what puts it over the top. Makes for some challenging platforming sections and boss battles, especially the final boss. The art style looks amazing as well. It's up there with Trenched/Iron Brigade as best downloadable game of the year IMO. Also it's much better than Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, a similar style game that seemingly got much more attention, but was ultimately fairly disappointing for me.

Anyway, I'm tempted by Might and Magic for 600 points, but I'm almost positive it will be even cheaper during the upcoming Steam sale.

Can anyone with a family plan verify what is the family deal, I'm not seeing it

(I think it's GW2 and THP)

Agree 100% with your Outland opinion. Great game and a steal at 400 M$. However, I would throw Bastion in there for GOTY along with Trenched

M&M is also a wonderful game. I played the heck out of it on my DS.

Bastion had an impressive art style and amazing music, but I found the actual gameplay to be lacking. Specifically the combat was too simplistic and wore thin towards the end. Still a great game though, just don't think it's one I'd ever revisit.

I have 7 cheevos in GW2 and 1 in GW1. For what it's worth, I found the ones I didn't get in GW2 to be quite difficult. Don't really remember GW1, I'm sure they were tough as nails, but I didn't really even like the game so I didn't play it much at all.

Now I want to find a list of XBLA releases for the year and figure out which one I liked the most. Back shortly.

Edit: Half Minute Hero was probably my favorite. Ilomilo and Fancy Pants Adventures were both awesome too. Haven't played Toy Soldiers: Cold War but I'm sure it's amazing as well.

It really wouldn't be fair to call it a puzzle quest clone.

It uses the overworld and story style of puzzle quest, but other than there being some form of match 3 element and both you and your opponent having health and spells and fighting with the match 3 and...

Ok. It is kind of a clone.

But if you play it you'll probably agree it has a completely different feel. One that makes it feel more like a SRPG than a puzzle game.

it's just you said the GW2 achievements you don't have were brutal, which may put people off if they have bad memories of GW1

Redjoey, The family pack hasn't been showing up on the dash lately, I am a member. I think GW2 is the deal. THP seems to be a price reduction it is not gold only.

Good idea for a page. I'll add it to my ToDo list, hopefully I can get to it before the end of the year.

Does anyone know if these DLCs can be played by yourself? Or will you be forced to play in multiplayer? Anyone's help would be greatly appreaciated. ie. these games are getting older by the minute and soon enough there wont be much of a community if there is any right now, I'd feel better if I could play this stuff on my own and not have to rely on having to get someone else into the game in order to play through it.

Got Prince of Persia: Epilouge DLC and decided to get Panzer General after trying the demo. Thank God for my 250GB HDD.

It's times like this that I still hate the whole point system. I've got 160 points left over from buying BG&E a week or so ago and wouldn't mind picking up Panzer General, but then I'll be getting another 400 points and leftovers. Yes, I know there's ways to get around it with Zune, etc., but I'd still rather have my $2 and fork over the extra $.50 for PG.

This. You can redeem 100 points every week and a half or so via bing. I've probably racked up a good 2000+ msp since this summer for a minute or 2 of mindless clicking a day.

I thought I would never fill up my 120 GB HD and its down below 40 GB available after less than 3 years of ownership.

Thanks for mentioning Bing rewards. I just signed up and earned 44 points, which gives me over a third of what I need to be able to redeem the 100 MS points.

I did. But I also said right before that that the game is great and worth the pickup. Sorry if I seemed to contradict myself. Hard doesn't mean bad to me.
