Does it have to be a game? What if I needed the marijuana for my cataracts? $50 could make my eyes feel soooooo good...

That has to be a trick question. There is no way I'd spend $50 on just one game (well, panzer dragoon saga, but that is about it)

I too have bought some new games on release week, GTA double pack comes to mind, as does Ninja Gaiden, but I traded in a few games for it, so I only paid $27.

I've bought plenty of games on their release date for $50, but I try my best to hold off now until the price drops. Once you start getting great games for $20 or less, it's hard to go back to paying $50.

GTA: San Andreas will be an exception to that rule for me. No way I can wait one day longer than I have to for that.
